Biden Regime Gives Christian Family That Fled Germany 15 Years Ago Four Weeks to ‘Self-Deport’

The Biden regime has reportedly given a conservative Christian family that has lived in the United States for 15 years four weeks to “self-deport” back to Germany.

The Romeike family fled to the United States from Germany in 2008 because homeschooling is illegal there, and the German government had fined them roughly $9,000 for homeschooling their children.

Uwe Romeike, the father of seven children, works as a piano accompanist at Carson-Newman University, a private Baptist university in Jefferson City, Tennessee, 10News reported.

Their application for asylum said they were fined by the German government roughly $9,000 after homeschooling their children, court documents show. In an interview on Fox News 9 years ago, UWE said that he and his wife also feared that they could lose custody of their children because they chose to homeschool them.

An immigration judge initially granted the family’s application for asylum, but the Obama Department of Justice appealed the decision, and the U.S. Board of Immigration Appeals revoked the family’s asylum status.

The family appealed to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals and a three-judge panel unanimously ruled against them in 2013.

“They have not shown that Germany’s enforcement of its general school-attendance law amounts to persecution against them,” Judge Jeffrey Sutton wrote for the court.

Because they were told they could stay indefinitely, the Romeikes continued to live in the U.S. following the ruling, “checking in periodically with immigration agents,” according to 10News.

“They’re here with the approval of the U.S. government, but without permanent residency or citizenship status,” said Kevin Boden, an attorney with the U.S. Home School Defense Association.

Two weeks ago, however, an immigration agent reportedly told the entire Romeike family to “self-deport” to Germany in four weeks with German passports.

“Our oldest children were in school in the German public schools, and their personality literally changed,” Romeike said. “We wanted to help them to grow up in what they believed in, and what we believe in and not get basically indoctrinated with something we don’t want.”

Since moving to the U.S., Uwe and his wife have had two more children and two of their adult children are married to U.S. Citizens.

“They work here. Everything is here in America,” Romeike said. “We don’t have any place to live there. I don’t have any work to provide for my family over there.”

Attorneys are reportedly working to convince the Biden Regime to allow the Romeike family to stay in the U.S.

“It won’t take a genius to spot the immigration policy hypocrisy and anti-White hatred emanating from the US Gov on this,” wrote Utah Senate candidate Sam Parker on X.

Indeed, since 2021, the Biden regime open border policies have allowed  7-8 million illegal aliens to cross the southern border into the United States.

U.S. Custom and Border Patrol sources told Fox News Monday morning that there were 11,000 illegal immigrant encounters in just the past 24 hours— “the single highest day in recent memory.”
