Vegan Activists Kill Over 100 Rabbits in Spain

The Vegan activists who were allegedly attacked by farmers in Spain last week directly caused the deaths of over 100 rabbits in a rabbit farm, the New York Post reports.

The leader of the activists, who goes by the online alias “Mythical Mia,” had previously posted to Instagram claiming that she and other activists were attacked by farmers after breaking into a rabbit farm to free the animals. She claimed that they had freed 16 rabbits before being chased off the property and down the motorway by multiple farmers.

Although there is still no evidence of the farmers’ alleged violence against the activists, a local Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia reported that over 100 rabbits were confirmed dead as a result of the invasion of the farm; most of the 16 rabbits who escaped died in the wilderness, five of which were pregnant.

An estimated 90 baby bunnies were subsequently left without mothers and had to be euthanized after being abandoned for too long. Other pregnant rabbits that remained at the farm were in so much distress during the invasion that they were forced to have abortions.
