Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed Thursday that the anti-ICE agitator caught on tape in New Jersey threatening an ICE agent and his family will be brought to justice.
During a riot Wednesday night, independent journalist Nick Sortor was on the ground recording when the agitator targeted the unmasked ICE officer with threats.
“I’ll kill your whole f-cking family! Your whole f-cking family is dead!” the agitator yawped. “Your children, your wife—all dead!”
“I have your face, motherf-cker,” the agitator bellowed. “You’re dead, dead!”
“This is EXACTLY WHY ICE agents are FORCED to wear masks,” Sortor noted on X. “This is the type of TERRORISM Democrats WANT ICE agents to face by de-masking them.”
Anti-ICE demonstrations have escalated outside the Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark in recent days, with violent agitators assaulting federal agents amid contested claims of substandard living conditions and massive hunger strikes within the facility. Local Democrat officials have actively encouraged the ongoing agitation, including U.S. Senators Andy Kim and Cory Booker, as well as Governor Mikie Sherrill.
The Acting AG made clear on Fox News Thursday that the Justice Department will not be tolerating threats against the lives of federal officers and their families.
“He said [to the ICE agent] ‘I have your face,’ said Fox News host Will Cain.
“Well, so do we,” Blanche shot back, before pointing out that threatening an ICE officer is a federal crime.
“Think about how disgusting this individual is, threating his family and his children with death!” Blanche exclaimed.
“I promise you, we will find him, and when we find him, we will arrest him, because it is a crime not only to threaten law enforcement, but not surprisingly, to threaten their family, as well,” he said.
During the White House cabinet meeting Wednesday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told President Trump that only a small handful of detainees had gone on a hunger strike because they were denied ethnic food.
“Well, they can go back to their country and get whatever food they want,” Mullin stated. “This isn’t Holiday Inn.”
Sec. Mullin put the agitators on notice Thursday, saying that those who assault law enforcement will be prosecuted.
“On the evening of May 27th, approximately 100 anti-ICE rioters gathered around the Delaney Hall ICE facility,” Mullin posted on X.
Rioters assaulted and threw objects at law enforcement. Throughout the night, six rioters were arrested for assaulting law enforcement officers. Local police refused to help our officers. Assaulting and obstructing ICE law enforcement is a crime and felony.
Anyone who assaults law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Law and order will prevail.
Mullin has described the ongoing demonstrations outside Delaney Hall as “political theater.”
“Not only are we providing them a safe place to stay, and food, and a place to sleep, but we’re also giving them a convenience store to buy products out of. So we’re going above and beyond,” the secretary insisted on Fox and Friends, Thursday morning.
Border Czar Tom Homan had a similar message Wednesday, telling Cain during an interview on Fox News that Delaney Hall is a “very well run facility” with the “highest detention standards in the industry.”
Homan clarified that ICE facilities always accommodate religious diet requests.
“If you’re Muslim, you have a certain diet—you can’t eat certain meats, you can’t eat certain food—and those diets are accounted for,” he said.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill challenged Mullin Thursday evening to allow state health inspectors into the facility “to do their jobs.”
“Taxpayers are footing a billion-dollar bill for this facility,” the Democrat posted on X. “They deserve transparency.”
Mullin responded on X that state health inspectors had in fact visited the facility earlier that day.
“Today, four representatives of the New Jersey State Health Department arrived at approximately 11:00 AM,” Mullin replied on X.
“They entered the facility and inspected the foodservice department. The inspection of the kitchen was completed and they departed around 12:30 PM.”
Mullin noted that ICE is “regularly audited and inspected by external agencies to ensure that all ICE facilities comply with performance based national detention standards.”
“All detainees are provided with proper meals, quality water, blankets, medical treatment, and have opportunities to communicate with their family members and lawyers,” he added.
