U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) said that it’s irresponsible for Sec. of State Antony Blinken to declare that Ukraine will become a NATO member.
“This is completely irresponsible,” Vance posted on X. “Ukraine should not join NATO, and to invite them during a war is to invite our nation into war.”
This is completely irresponsible. Ukraine should not join NATO, and to invite them during a war is to invite our nation into war.
Do you want American ground troops in Ukraine? If not, we must push back against the idea that Ukraine should join NATO. https://t.co/FkpPFZxbyP

Vance was responding to a video of Blinken, posted by William Wolfe, in which Blinken declared confidently that Ukraine will become a NATO member.

Blinken’s comments come as U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson pushes for a vote for additional U.S. taxpayer funding for the “Ukraine war.”
American Greatness reported yesterday that U.S. Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) said it’s “absurd” that the U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson is considering sending more money to Ukraine, and said funding should e replaced with an effort to hold peace talks.
It’s absurd that overnighting more tax dollars to Ukraine is even a consideration.
It should be totally off the table and replaced with a push for peace talks.https://t.co/NFd8a3Da5U

U.S. Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) told Meet the Press this week that Johnson “might risk losing the speakership” over the push to provide more funding to Ukraine.
And Johnson’s support for Ukraine funding even prompted Tucker Carlson to ask if Johnson has been “blackmailed”…
Ep. 88 Is Speaker of the House Mike Johnson being blackmailed to do the bidding of the left? It certainly seems that way. His colleague, Marjorie Taylor Greene, explains pic.twitter.com/r60v1XQusY

One final, yet important note…
The push for more U.S. taxpayer funding of Ukraine comes days after Ukraine decided to cancel its elections.
U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) noted that instead of securing the U.S. homeland amidst a southern border invasion, Speaker Johnson’s priority seems to be more funding for Ukraine:
Securing our border should be Congress’s highest priority, but Speaker Johnson says his first priority is funding Ukraine as soon as we return from recess. https://t.co/zMYf2doavm
