Hunter Biden stepped out of hiding Wednesday to speak his truth, as they say on the left. Oozing with the incredible arrogance and deep cynicism that he inherited from his father, Hunter gave a fulsome defense of his family’s criminal grifting, and condemned the “MAGA right” for making an issue of it.
As he read his carefully prepared, and frankly unbelievable statement, the 53-year-old was betrayed by a toothless lisp that served as a reminder of his degenerate character.
He claimed to make amends for his profligate lifestyle, but was unapologetic about his do-nothing $83,000 a month job at Burisma, his “art career,” and his multi-million dollar deals with the communist Chinese.
He was terribly aggrieved with the loss of his privacy, accusing Republicans – or was it Russia? – of fabricating the compromising texts and photographs on the laptop he abandoned during one of his binges. He claimed the bribery allegations against his father had been “debunked,” but declined to say by whom.
“They have taken the light of my dad’s love for me and presented it as darkness,” he said. “They have no shame.”
Speaking of shameless, Hunter was joined by Democrat Eric Swalwell, a man with his own history of sexual indiscretions and an amazing ability to degrade himself for a promotion.
For a man who sounded so aggrieved, Hunter Biden is lucky to have avoided consequences for as long as he has. He can thank his father and his father’s enemies, who are still afraid to treat Biden with half the ferocity that Democrats showed to Donald Trump.
Just as vehemently as they impeached Trump – twice – Democrats and their media surrogates are blasting the Republicans’ cautious impeachment inquiry as a baseless witch hunt.
There is no evidence of wrongdoing by Biden, whose only crime is being a loving father to his son, they say.
There is a husk of truth to this mushy, unbearable nonsense.
How else did Hunter pay for his rich taste in prostitutes, if not for his father and the millions in lucre that daddy’s connections provided?
Democrats are happy to concede that Hunter is criminally liable, so long as they can keep his dad out of it. They want to make this a story about a tax-avoidant son with expensive vices.
They know they’re stuck with Joe, warts and all, and they’ll make any excuses for his corruption at this point.
The evidence is overwhelming – but the truth is inconvenient.
For starters, it is known that “the big guy” chatted up the board of Burisma, which paid his son seven figures per annum to do….what exactly?
Trump wanted Ukraine to look into Biden’s sleazy connections to that corrupt backwater – and if memory serves, Trump was impeached for those efforts.
To this day, Biden has a strong attachment to Ukraine that defies a benign explanation.
Old Joe has spent the week playing footsie with Zelensky and smearing Republicans as Putin apologists for mustering the guts to pause, even momentarily, the endless flow of tax money into a hopeless meatgrinder.
If Congress does not continue to support this winless war for “democracy,” sooner or later Putin will force Biden to send America’s sons and daughters to die in World War III, Biden says.
Biden has never made a close study of the art of persuasion, it seems. He prefers the heavy hand.
He patronizes the public with obvious lies about prosperity they don’t have, and refuses to take an iota of responsibility for the border invasion he and he alone unleashed, in what can only be described as an act of hostility.
To top it all off, Biden is trying – like some Third World dictator – to have Trump locked up in prison.
He’s everything the left says that Trump is – a lying, self-serving bully who would sell the country for a dollar.
Except Trump was already rich when he entered politics, and has only suffered since.
Biden owes everything to his “public service,” and he’s not about to give it up.
