The former director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said (ICE) the Mexican cartels are “making a record amount of money” through drugs and sex trafficking.
“ The criminal cartels are making a record amount of money smuggling drugs, a record amount of money smuggling people, a record amount of money sex trafficking women and children, and a record amount of money on the border and paying off the other Mexican cartels,” Tom Homan told Dan Proft on the Counter Culture Podcast.

“The reason there is so much violence in the country of Mexico right now is because the cartels are fighting each other for control,” said Homan. “When you control a certain border, you control everything. You decide what comes in, when it comes in, and where it comes in.”
A former police officer, Homan was the acting director of ICE under President Trump from January 2017 to June 2018.
A native of West Carthage, N.Y., Homan attended Jefferson Community College and SUNY Polytechnic Institute. He was a police officer in West Carthage before joining ICE (then called the Immigration and Naturalization Service) in 1984.
Barack Obama appointed Homan to the position of Executive Associate Director of ICE in 2013.
