House GOP Report: The Biden Regime Has Failed to Remove More than 99% of the Illegal Aliens Released into the U.S.

According to new data obtained by the House Judiciary Committee, the Biden regime has failed to remove over 99 percent of the more than two million illegal aliens released into the country between January 20, 2021, and March 31, 2023.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has  asserted that the southwest border is closed and illegal aliens are removed from the country quickly.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Immigration Subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock (R-CA) on Monday released an interim staff report titled, “The Biden Border Crisis: New Data and Testimony Show How the Biden Administration Opened the Southwest Border and Abandoned Interior Immigration Enforcement.”

After persistent demands by the Committee and its Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement for basic information about the state of the border crisis, DHS produced data exposing the alarming state of immigration enforcement. The new, nonpublic data show an alarming lack of immigration enforcement.

Between January 20, 2021, and March 31, 2023, there were over 5 million illegal alien encounters. Of these encounters, at least 2,464,424 had no confirmed departure from the United States.

During the same period, DHS released at least 2,148,738 illegal aliens into the United States.

“The Biden Administration has removed from the United States only 5,993 illegal aliens who were encountered at the southwest border and who were placed in removal proceedings before an immigration judge during that time. In other words, of the at least 2.1 million aliens released into the United States since January 20, 2021, the Biden Administration has failed to remove, through immigration court removal proceedings, roughly 99.7 percent of those illegal aliens.”

A mere six percent of illegal aliens released into the United States were even screened for fear of persecution for purposes of asylum.
As of March 2023, DHS had removed only 874 of the illegal aliens whose asylum claims were adjudicated on the merits and denied by an immigration judge.

Another 205,473 aliens “were released into the country through illegal categorical parole programs,” the report states.

DHS claims that ICE made 143,000 arrests and 72,000 deportations in the 2022 fiscal year, compared to 74,000 arrests and 59,000 deportations in the previous fiscal year.

According to Fox News’ Bill Melugin, so far in 2023, there have been 151 arrests of suspects on the FBI’s terror watchlist at the southern border. It is suspected that a great many more are among the 1.5 million-plus “gotaways” who have successfully snuck across. During the Trump years terrorist arrests averaged to less than three per year.
