On Friday, marchers in New York City’s annual drag queen parade resorted to a disturbing chant: “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming for your children.”
As Fox News reports, the chants could be heard during the parade’s march through the city’s East Village, which ended at the Stonewall Inn. The march consisted of drag queens, homosexual men who dress as wildly-distorted caricatures of women, and often in lewd or sexually explicit outfits.
The chant reflects an apparent desire among the LGBTQ crowd, and particularly those who identify as “transgender,” to target impressionable young children for the purposes of sexually grooming them. These concerns have long been called out by conservative activists, but many on the Left have dismissed these warnings as conspiratorial.
Present at the march was the far-left drag queen group Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a group where the performers dress up as sexualized nuns and perform in ways that blaspheme Christianity and Catholicism.
The group generated headlines earlier this month when the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team invited them to perform at the team’s “pride” celebration. After a strong backlash from fans, the Dodgers initially un-invited the group, only to face another wave of backlash from the LGBTQ crowd, thus resulting in the team flip-flopping and re-inviting them, thus generating further criticism from those who originally protested the decision.
There have since been protests at Dodgers Stadium, with a massive gathering protesting the pride event and the group’s appearance on June 17th. There have also been reports of recent Dodgers games seeing lower attendance following the controversy, presumably as a form of boycotting the team and their decision to host such a group.
The display in New York City took place as the month of June comes to a close. Having been designated as “pride month,” June sees many corporations, government agencies, and other institutions change their logos to a rainbow-themed appearance, to express “solidarity” with homosexuals, transgenders, and other deviant sexualities that identify as LGBTQ. However, this year’s pride month has seen several massive boycotts against companies that went especially far in supporting transgenderism, including Bud Light and Target, representing an unusually strong pushback against the pride agenda not seen in previous years.
