Never-before-seen footage from the peaceful protests at the United States Capitol on January 6th, 2021 reveal that one of the most prominent protesters from that day was not only entirely peaceful during his time in the Capitol, but that he was also escorted every step of the way by Capitol Police officers.
As reported by Just The News, the footage aired on Monday as part of the beginning of Tucker Carlson’s exclusive investigation into the events of that day, after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) decided to hand over all 41,000 hours of surveillance footage to Carlson’s show on Fox News.
In the footage, Jacob Chansely, who came to be known as “The QAnon Shaman” due to his unusual outfit consisting of fur clothing, red-white-and-blue face paint, and a viking-like horned helmet, can be seen walking peacefully through the Capitol after entering the building. He never once committed an act of violence, and was in fact escorted by multiple Capitol Police officers during the entirety of his time inside the building. Despite at one point being surrounded by at least nine officers, not one officer made any attempt to subdue him or lead him out of the building.
“The tapes show the Capitol police never stopped Jacob Chansley. They helped him. They acted as his tour guides,” Carlson narrated. The host even noted that, at one point in footage filmed by another protester, Chansley led a prayer in the Senate chamber thanking God for the Capitol Police officers and praising their efforts that day.
As Chansley himself noted in a subsequent interview, he genuinely did not think that he or any of the other protesters were committing a crime specifically because the officers had allowed them into the building and were guiding them through.
“The one very serious regret that I have [is] believing that when we were waved in by police officers that it was acceptable,” said Chansley.
Due to his bizarre clothing, Chansley became one of the most recognizable protesters from that day. As a result, prosecutors demanded that he be given the maximum sentence of 51 months in prison. Despite the far-left judge admitting that Chansley did not commit any violence, he still ultimately gave Chansley a steep sentence of 41 months not because of his actions, but purely because he came to symbolize the protests.
“What you did was terrible. You made yourself the epitome of the riot,”
said U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth in his sentencing, before then proceeding to admit that Chansley “didn’t slug anybody.”
“But what you did here was actually obstruct the functioning of the whole government,” Lamberth falsely claimed, calling it “a serious crime.”
Monday’s episode of Carlson’s show is the first part of what is expected to be a multi-episode series, with each episode focusing on multiple aspects of the January 6th protests that the mainstream media and the January 6th Committee lied to the public about. In the same episode, Carlson showed footage that debunked mainstream narratives about other aspects of January 6th, including lies about Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) “running away” from the protesters, as well as the truth about Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, who was seen continuing to usher protesters into the building even after the timestamp at which Democrats claim he had been murdered by Trump supporters.
