On Monday, an official with the Canadian government has ordered New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D-N.Y.) to stop unloading illegal aliens from his city into Canada by busing them across the northern border.
According to the Daily Caller, the office of Francois Legault, the Premier of Quebec, released a statement revealing that the region was already suffering from a serious immigration crisis even before Adams began sending illegals up north. Adams’ efforts essentially copied what Republican governors first did to him, with Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R-Texas) sending multiple buses full of illegals up to New York City after Adams originally voiced his support for open borders.
“Any form of assistance to migrants crossing the border where it is strictly forbidden to do so should stop immediately,” said a spokesman for Legault’s office. “We understand that the situation of migrants in New York poses major challenges, but the situation in Quebec and particularly in Montreal is even worse and constitutes an important humanitarian issue.”
As the immigration crisis in New York worsened, Adams began coordinating with alleged Catholic charities, using taxpayer dollars to buy bus tickets for the illegals, who would then go to the charities to be sent to a city of their choice. The buses would take the illegals to Plattsburgh, where taxis and vans would take them to the Canadian border; they would then get out and cross the border illegally on foot, so that they could turn themselves in to Canadian authorities.
“If they’re seeking to go somewhere else, we are helping in the reticketing process. What we’ve found [is] that people had other destinations but were compelled only to come to New York City and we are assisting and interviewing those who seek to go somewhere else,” said Adams on February 6th. “Some want to go to Canada, some want to go to warmer states and we are there for them as they continue to move on with their pursuit of this dream.”
Once Abbott and other Republican governors and mayors began sending illegals to New York, Adams quickly changed his tune on illegal immigration, even paying a visit to the border and calling for increased border security.
