‘Highly Profitable’ New Pediatric Gender Clinics Opening all Around the Country

Over the last 15 years, hundreds of so-called “pediatric gender clinics” have sprouted up all across the country, offering various methods of “gender transition” procedures to children in order to generate maximum profit.

According to The Daily Caller, the Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine released a report revealing that as many as 300 such clinics have opened in the United States over the last 15 years, since the very first “gender clinic” for children first opened back in 2007. Other groups vary in their estimates of just how many exist today, but with the number still being relatively high; the far-left Human Rights Campaign estimates at least 60 such clinics, while the Gender Mapper project claims 200.

Such facilities offer numerous methods to artificially alter a child’s hormonal growth in order to indulge an individual’s delusions that they are somehow in the “wrong” gender, and thus feel the need to transition into the other one. These methods include puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, facial reconstruction surgeries, and surgeries to mutilate the genitals.

In addition to the rise of the political ideology of transgenderism, which has attempted to force the idea onto everyone and scare most medical professionals into submission, some also embrace the practice for the sake of profit.

“It’s natural to assume that the medical profession has increased supply in response to demand for its services,” said Joseph Burgo, a clinical psychologist in California who also serves as  an advisor to the company Genspect. “Like most professionals, physicians and surgeons also seek to maximize their income and, as Dr. Shayne Taylor informed her Vanderbilt University Medical Center audience, gender medicine is highly profitable.”

Burgo was referring to a video in which the aforementioned Taylor boasted that such procedures are “a lot of money.”

“These surgeries make a lot of money,” Taylor said. “So a female to male chest reconstruction could bring in $40,000. A patient just on routine hormone treatment who I’m only seeing a few times a year can bring in several thousand dollars without requiring a lot of visits and labs. It actually makes money for the hospital.”

As another example, PBS reports that puberty blockers can cost as much as $1,200 per month, while implants can cost anywhere between $4,500 and $18,000.

There have been efforts by Republican-led states to crack down on transgenderism, citing it as child abuse and anti-science. Nevertheless, these profitable facilities have arisen even in red states such as Florida, Kansas, Montana, and Wyoming.
