GOP Scores Legal Victory Against NAACP in 2020 Election Challenge

On Friday, the 2020 campaign of President Donald Trump, as well as the Republican National Committee, was handed a victory in court against the NAACP in a lawsuit dealing with voter fraud in the 2020 election.

Breitbart reports that the lawsuit filed by the NAACP attempted to block the Trump campaign’s efforts to call into question the results of the election in the key swing states. The far-left group claimed in its lawsuit that the campaign’s attempts to enforce election integrity “sought to overturn the result of the election by disenfranchising voters, in particular voters of color in several major metropolitan areas.”

“Defendants’ efforts to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters—targeting cities with large Black populations, including Detroit, Michigan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Atlanta, Georgia—repeat the worst abuses in our nation’s history,” the lawsuit continued, “where Black Americans were denied a voice in American democracy for most of the first two centuries of the Republic.”

The judge overseeing the case was Emmet Sullivan, the radical judge who infamously attempted to have Lieutenant General Michael Flynn convicted of treason over false claims that Flynn colluded with Russian government officials before and during his time as President Trump’s National Security Adviser.

But even Sullivan was forced to admit that there was no case against the Trump campaign for alleged violations of the Voting Rights Act, ultimately ruling that the NAACP lacked the proper standing for such a claim in court. Sullivan’s reasoning was that the NAACP’s case focused on past conduct, yet at the same time demanded that the court take action to prevent any possible future conduct.

The ruling has been described as a major victory for Republican-led election integrity efforts, which have focused on the major urban areas that saw massive election interference in the weeks and months leading up to the 2020 election. Among other schemes, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was found to have donated hundreds of millions of dollars to artificially boost turnout in big cities located in swing states, as these urban areas lean heavily Democratic. Various Democratic state officials, such as governors, secretaries of state, and others also unilaterally implemented new early-voting and vote-by-mail procedures such as ballot-harvesting and drop boxes, often without the consent of the state legislatures, which further skewed the results in favor of Joe Biden.
