Hosts of ‘The View’ Call for Federal Probe into Tucker Carlson for Anti-War Rhetoric

On Monday, the left-wing hosts of the ABC talk show “The View” called for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to launch a federal investigation into popular Fox News host Tucker Carlson due to his multiple comments in support of a non-interventionist approach to Ukraine.

As reported by The Hill, co-host and former Republican Ana Navarro, a CNN contributor, said “I think the DOJ…should look into people who are Russian propagandists and shilling for Putin. If you are a foreign asset to a dictator it should be investigated.”

Navarro also went after former congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), who has appeared on Carlson’s show and other Fox programs to similarly voice her disapproval of the notion of American involvement in the war in Europe.

“I think to myself, who is this woman? She’s no longer in Congress,” Navarro ranted. “The fact that we’re giving her oxygen is what makes her relevant. On the other hand, how do you not call out something that is repeating false Russian propaganda and has been brought down?”

Whoopi Goldberg, who had recently been suspended from The View for suggesting that the Holocaust had nothing to do with race, added that “they used to arrest people for doing stuff like this.”

“If they thought that you were colluding with a Russian agent, if they thought you were putting out information,” Goldberg continued. “They used to actually investigate stuff like this. I guess now there seems to be no bars and people are not being told to hate Putin, Putin doesn’t need a reason to be hated … it’s pretty much clear.”

Carlson currently hosts the most popular cable news program by a wide margin. There have been multiple attempts to boycott his program and have him canceled for a number of statements, on issues ranging from immigration to COVID-19 vaccines. On a recent episode, Carlson compared and contrasted Russian president Vladimir Putin with the American Left, pointing out that the Left is currently doing more damage to the average American than Putin.

“Has Putin ever called me a racist? Has he threatened to get me fired for disagreeing with him? Has he shipped every middle-class job in my town to Russia?” Carlson rhetorically asked in a recent episode. “Did he manufacture a worldwide pandemic that wrecked my business and kept me indoors for two years?”

Russia first invaded Ukraine on February 24th, and has been slowly moving towards the capital city of Kyiv after experiencing numerous logistical setbacks and a stronger-than-expected resistance from the Ukrainian people. Although Ukraine is not a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), there have been calls for NATO to get involved, ranging from supplying weapons and military-grade equipment, to imposing a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
