Leftwing and anarchist protesters carrying signs against Joe Biden and police marched in Portland on inauguration day and smashed windows at Oregon’s Democratic Party headquarters, according to police and a local report.
Some in the group smashed windows and spray-painted anarchist symbols at the political party building.
Police said eight arrests were made as hundreds of black-clad protesters marched in the northeast section of the city, the police department said.
One protester was charged with “reckless burning,” Portland police said.
The protesters, who were marching against police killings and “fascist massacres,” also threw debris at police and swarmed officers, a local Fox affiliate reported. Some protesters carried a sign reading “We don’t want Biden, we want revenge!” Others carried a banner declaring “We Are Ungovernable”.
