The Democrats’ Man Is Certifiable

Many of us have had older relatives, friends, perhaps even parents or grandparents, who were in sharp cognitive decline. Some suffered from early-onset Alzheimer’s disease or from various forms of dementia.

The symptoms were most noticeable:

  • Memory loss
  • Difficulty planning or solving problems
  • Difficulty doing familiar tasks
  • Being confused about time or place
  • Challenges understanding visual information
  • Problems speaking or writing
  • Misplacing things
  • Poor judgment or decision-making.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), “dementia is a syndrome in which there is deterioration in memory, thinking, behavior and the ability to perform everyday activities.” It is not a normal part of aging. Worldwide, around 50 million people have dementia, and there are nearly 10 million new cases every year.

It is a serious thing.

And there is no known cure. The condition is “certifiable”—that is, well established with abundant evidence, as demonstrated by the above-listed conditions and impairments.

Sadly, dementia is one of the major causes of disability and dependency among older people in the United States and worldwide. It has a physical, psychological, social, and economic impact, not only on people with dementia, but also on their careers, families, and society-at-large.

It is nothing to dismiss nor is it a subject for poking fun at its sufferers We need to address it head-on.

Joe Biden, the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee to be president of the United States, clearly has dementia. It is nothing for him to be ashamed of. Two earlier brain aneurysms, one to each side of his frontal lobe, have also taken their toll.

Biden should disclose all his cognitive and neuropsychological tests; it is only fair that the public knows the full medical details of his condition.

These tests are used to assess memory, problem-solving, language skills, math skills, and abilities related to mental functioning. We see the daily evidence that he has declined sharply. Laboratory tests, brain scans, and genetic tests should also be done, if they have not been already, to address just how much Biden’s cognition has decreased over recent years.

These are facts, not theories.

He should honestly admit his status and his family, friends, and supporters should then do the kind thing and have him retire and seek what limited treatment is available. Frankly, he just needs to be looked after and attended to.

Under no circumstances should he be put through the trials and tribulations of an arduous, tiring, political campaign, and most certainly he should never become president.

The presidency is a 24/7 occupation. It is a most demanding job for any person, let alone for one who will be 80-years-old and is clearly suffering. The country can ill afford to have a person of any political stripe, Democrat, Independent or Republican, who is confused, unable to plan, and unable to make decisions as commander-in-chief.

If Biden were president, in no time we would see Congress invoke the 25th Amendment, namely: “The Congress may by law provide for the case of removal, death, resignation or inability, both of the President and Vice President, declaring what officer shall then be President, or, in case of inability, act as President, and such officer shall be or act as President accordingly.”

Biden has himself already admitted he would not seek or run for a second term, making him a “lame duck,” immediately, if elected. It also ensures that his chosen vice president, in effect, would be acting president and would soon be president.

No election in all of American history ever had such a guaranteed scenario.

Indeed, outside of assassinations, there were only a few times that the American presidency has been so unfortunate. The most obvious case was Woodrow Wilson, who suffered a debilitating stroke that made him nearly blind and partially paralyzed. He spent the final 17 long months in office sequestered in the White House.

We can avoid this predicament in 2020 simply by doing the right thing.

All of us should be kind and refuse to put Joe Biden into this unacceptable position. We can be generous and send him to an honorable rest befitting the noble officeholder he has been. With over 50 years of government service as a senator, and then as vice president, his time is up. We need to thank him and bid him adieu.

It is one thing to be cooped up in your home basement during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is quite another to build a new administration, set and enact a complete public policy outline, oversee and direct a cabinet and fresh team of appointees, and to travel regularly, including to distant foreign lands, to conduct foreign policy.

It is not that we merely suspect Joe is not up to it. Realistically, he can’t be—given his condition, which will only worsen.

We need to do him a large favor and keep the country from all the electoral and personal discontinuity—don’t vote for him.

Or Biden could do us all a gigantic good deed and freely step away.

It is going to get down and dirty, rough and tumble, in the ring with the world heavyweight political champion, Donald J. Trump. He doesn’t always play nice and is known to throw a wicked punch and a more devastating counterpunch.

Trump will link Biden and his son, Hunter, to slimy criminal activity and greedy cash in both the Ukraine and China. Biden’s ties to the segregationist and racist follower of the KKK’s Grand Wizard, Senator Robert Byrd— the late Democratic leader from West Virginia—will be exposed.

Biden’s questionable past record and deeds, and his long history of creepy sexual behavior, even assault, will receive a thorough review. His lifelong efforts on behalf of corporatist Delaware, a notorious tax haven, and as the bagman for the usurious credit card industry, will show forgetful Joe in all his ugly colors. He won’t like it and it will tear him down, unforgivably. He will be smeared and continually rubbed into the dirt.

What will he do?

Joe can’t hide in his basement much longer. Trump is coming for him. The negative ads have just begun, and they will never end. The three (he refused more) debates are going to be very embarrassing and tell-tale. No teleprompter, no recorded messages, no softballs. Why put himself through this?

Let’s just all admit it: Joe Biden is certifiable and should never be president.
