Philadelphia DA Threatens ICE Agents Patrolling Philly Airport with Arrest, Prosecution

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner is doubling down on earlier promises to arrest and prosecute Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, this time threatening agents deployed to his city’s airport.

The George Soros-backed prosecutor made his threats during a Tuesday press conference, directing his remarks to federal ICE agents who helping to patrol Philadelphia’s International Airport.

Krasner invoked the two deadly clashes between anti-ICE protestors and immigration agents in Minneapolis in January to justify his issuing an ultimatum to ICE agents assisting TSA workers at the airport.

In addition to threatening agents with arrest and prosecution, Krasner asserted that state charges, filed by his office, would not be subject to a presidential pardon.

“That is how it works. No, I don’t take a phone call from the president, saying, ‘Let him go.’ No, the president cannot pardon you. I’ll say it again: the president cannot pardon you,” Krasner announced.

The Philadelphia DA had taken a similar hard stand against ICE operations earlier this year when he warned them to stay out of his city, saying, “If any law enforcement agent, any ICE agent is gonna come to Philly . . . , then you can get the F out of here.” “I will charge you with those crimes. You will be arrested. You will stand trial. You will be convicted. Donald Trump cannot pardon you for a state court conviction. Do you hear me, ICE agents?”

The tough-talking prosecutor had also made headlines during a January City Hall event supporting legislation to limit ICE operations, when he compared federal immigration agents to Nazis and promising to “hunt down” and prosecute them for overstepping their authority.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on Sunday that ICE agents would be deployed to help beleaguered TSA agents who had faced severe staff shortages due to a Democrat-led partial government shutdown over a congressional budget battle.

The statement from DHS read as follows: “Because of the Democrat shutdown, President Trump is using every tool available to help American travelers who are facing hours long lines at airports across the country—especially during this spring break and holiday season that is very important for many American families.”

A US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and killed an American woman on the streets of Minneapolis January 7, leading to huge protests and outrage from local leaders who rejected White House claims she was a domestic terrorist. The woman, identified in local media as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, was hit at point blank range as she apparently tried to drive away from agents who were crowding around her car, which they said was blocking their way.
