The Heroes Who Said “No” to the Ukraine Aid Bill

The passage of last week’s $ 60.8 billion foreign aid bill for Ukraine has been a cause for celebration among much of the legacy media and D.C. establishment. It’s also been the catalyst for some good old fashioned “red baiting” against the 112 Republican House members who voted against the measure.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was specifically targeted for her outspoken opposition to House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) relentless effort to bring the funding package to a vote.

The Ukraine aid bill was part of a larger foreign aid package that now goes to the Senate where it is expected to pass.

The 112 Republican members of Congress who opposed the bill represent a majority of the GOP conference, although 101 of their Republican colleagues voted for the measure while Rep. Dan Meuser (R-PA) voted “present.”

Here is a list of the 112 Republican heroes who voted against Biden’s Forever War in Ukraine.

It remains to be seen whether members of the GOP Conservative Caucus will follow through on their threat to oust Johnson as Speaker of the House but Rep. Greene was pulling no punches as she described the problem at hand.

A further complication for the GOP could stem from former president Trump’s very public backing of the embattled House Speaker.

If there’s a silver lining to this ongoing power struggle it’s that GOP opposition to continued funding of foreign policy boondoggles appears to be growing.
