Tucker Carlson: ‘Is the Speaker of the House Being Blackmailed’?

In his latest video on the Tucker Carlson Network, Carlson interviews U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) and asks if House Speaker Mike Johnson is being blackmailed over a bill to provide additional funding to Ukraine.

“The overwhelming majority of GOP voters vehemently oppose the unregulated allocation of their money to fund Eastern Europe’s continued destruction, but Johnson is aggressively pushing for it anyway,” wrote Carlson in an email to subscribers today.

“How could this be?” wrote Carlson. “Is the Speaker of the House being blackmailed?”

Taylor Greene, who recently filed a motion to vacate the Speaker’s chair over Johnson’s recent approval of spending bills and his support for Ukraine funding told Carlson that, “We should not be funding a foreign war in order to fund our military.”

Said Taylor Greene:

That’s completely wrong. And our military, their mission, as stated on their website, is to put our national security first. It’s all about our national security. Fighting a proxy war with Russia and Ukraine, which is a non-NATO member nation, is not protecting America’s national security interest. It doesn’t protect the United States of America. As a matter of fact, that pushes us closer and closer to World War 3.

As American Greatness reported Monday, U.S. Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.)  told Meet the Press this week that Johnson “might risk losing the speakership” over a planned Ukraine funding bill.

Bacon said Johnson is committed told a vote on “supplemental assistance” to Ukraine and that “It is very likely that after this Ukraine bill, we may have a standoff with the speaker.”

Johnson’s support for Ukraine funding comes after Ukraine cancelled elections that would previously have been scheduled this past Sunday under the Ukrainian Constitution.

But onward the Speaker pushes to send more money to Ukraine.
