Trump is Cleaning House at RNC; Aligning Campaign and Party

Sixty (former) Republican National Committee (RNC) staffers received their walking papers this week, just days after new pro-Trump leadership took over at the committee.

The RNC voted on March 8 to replace Ronna McDaniel with new Chairman Michael Whatley and Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara, as co-chair.

Chris LaCivita, a top Trump aide, took over as the RNC’s chief of staff.

The firings are a clear sign that the Trump campaign is focused on aligning the Republican Party with the campaign after months of feckless leadership at the RNC.

Whatley, the former chair of the North Carolina GOP, said in his acceptance speech that the RNC “will be focused like a laser on getting out the vote and protecting the ballot” and “will work hand in glove with President Trump’s campaign.”

Former Trump White House adviser, who is set to become the RNC’s new chief operating officer, Sean Cairncross, reportedly sent an email that said a full evaluation of RNC staffing was being done “to ensure the building is aligned with his vision of how to win in November.”

The RNC staffing changes were also referenced in a memo sent by Whatley, which also said the RNC has “completed a joint fundraising agreement with the Trump campaign and has brought in a data liaison to work with other Republican committees and state parties.”

The changes appear to having an immediate impact.

Lara Trump announced the RNC had the “largest digital fundraising weekend since 2020.”

Trump also told Fox News that she “personally had $2.7 MILLION pledged to her on her first weekend as RNC co-chair”:

  1. It sounds like a clown car is now short about 60 clowns. The RNC has been begging me for money the last four years or so. I stopped giving during the run up to 2020. I could see they were slow walking support for Donald Trump. Ronna thought she could get away with plundering donations for fancy flower arrangements, private jets, and the like rather than taking care of the true business of the RNC—getting Republicans elected.

Let’s see what Lara and company can do to get refocused on the mission. And then, maybe. . .

This is great news. I have been waiting a half dozen years or more for this. Every time a donation request ended up at WinRed I would cancel. Now, perhaps I can support the RNC with confidence again.

I too like Everett above am very disappointed in the RNC and most of our Republican politicians so I have stopped giving money.

Not only do we need to clean house at the RNC but also we clean house of the Republican Congressional Leadership. The latest betrayals on the Budget, TikTok potential restrictions on free speech and the continued support for our grossly immoral CIA subterfuge and destruction
of Ukraine that may well lead to a nuclear war that will kill us all, and the lack meaningful border security are just the latest betrayals in a long line of betrayals of the clear will and desires of the Republican base that are destroying this country.
When the Republican Leadership (and Trump too) begins to tell the full truth of the many destructive and scandalous actions of the Republican Establishment will I again give them money.

    For instance:
The Republicans once again caved on the Budget with Biden proposing to spend a whopping $7.5 Trillion ( only a staggering 64% increase over the last pre-pandemic budget of 2019) while Federal revenue last year was only $4.4 Trillion.

Now I know I am a LA Unified educated dummy, but that would seem to me to be $3Trillion deficit!
Which I guess is not too surprising because the Republican Leadership doesn’t want to tell us the Federal debt has already grown by also $3 Trillion since the last debt ceiling deal last June, even though that same Leadership wants to throw around numbers like a $1.5 or $1.7 Trillion deficit.

Has anyone told our wondrous Republican Leadership including Speaker Johnson that our Federal Debt service now consumes one in every four dollars in Federal revenue and because the Fed has to roll over according to them $10 Trillion in debt in each of the next two years in a much higher interest rate environment one should expect our debt service should erupt much higher possibly even double .

Speaking of the Fed, why doesn’t the Republican Leadership ever talk about the $9Trillion in QE money printing (5.5 Trillion in the just last 3 years) which is the primarily cause of the hellacious and underestimated inflation that is decimating the lower and middle class?

Also speaking of the Fed, how come almost no one, even Rand Paul talks about the enormously preferential treatment Wall Street got in tens of Trillions of dollars in nearly free ZIRP financing which allowed them to create near monopolistic dominance over many markets and in the process rape the middle and lower classes?

  4. Same here. I stopped donating four years ago go and changed to non partisan. I’m now in “wait and see” mode.

  5. Yeah, the last time I did a Win Red donation was back in 2018. I “thought” they were trying to hold on to the House and pick up another three Senate seats. Boy was I wrong. It was also in 2018 that I started to send money directly to particular candidates----again in House races where I thought there was a chance to unseat a Democrat. Only one of them won, but I didn’t regret sending the money.
