Save the Planet, Cull the Herd!

With but a few keystrokes, (post-)modern technology’s search engines will spew out the reasons for the impending climate apocalypse, such as fossil fuels, agricultural practices, ad nauseum. This is somewhat misleading, for it refrains from identifying the seminal cause of the carbon emissions despoiling and imperiling our planet –

You.

While breathing, you drive the fossil fueled vehicles to the party where the host uses his charcoal grill to smoke the meat of methane-spewing cattle raised by big agriculture and shipped by the fossil fueled vehicles to stores where it is refrigerated by coal burning electric plants, which you revile by posting on the internet using a computer running on that same electricity. Oops.

Little wonder that within the gaggle of radical green extremists we find both socialists, who believe only government can control the masses to the extent necessary to save the planet and equitably redistribute wealth; and we find Malthusians, who believe we must eliminate the root cause of the carbon emissions propelling the climate apocalypse – again, that’s you.

Well, okay, maybe not you, specifically, but certainly enough people to make the world less burdened by the blight upon Mother Nature that is humanity. Fewer people means fewer carbon emissions; and fewer people also means less money has to be redistributed for the sake of “equity,” which pleases rich climate cultists (looking at you, World Economic Forum), who can give more money to the cause.

But that pesky “rule of law” (for now, anyway) and humanity’s survival instinct restrict the prospective pool of people to toss into the volcano as a human sacrifice to Goddess Gaia. Ah, but the educated elitists of the Left are nothing if not persistently insidious. Recognizing the limits placed upon coerced democide for the common good, the Left has chosen a sharp elbow rather than a shove to send human sacrifices hurtling into the lava laden crater. Their goal is to make these human sacrifices seem the victim’s voluntary idea – well, at least at first.

As we have seen, the horrific reality of abortion in the violence committed upon the yet born child are praised and pushed by the climate cultists as a “liberating” right. Tragically, this reduction in millions of lives has long been underway; and, even post-Dobbs, continues almost unabated. Yet, this is not enough death for the Left.

As warned previously, euthanasia is the next frontier in the Left’s battle for “liberating” one from life:

Best to keep an eye on Canada’s MAiD [“Medical Aid in Dying”] policies. The American Left does, and they like what they see. It’s why they want to ensure Canada’s assisted-suicide laws roll downhill to America. Sure, all life’s paths lead but to the grave. But we shouldn’t hurry to get there.

The Left and its climate cult disagrees.

As reported by Catholic Vote’s Madalaine Elhabbal:

The American Medical Association (AMA) will debate whether to reverse its stance on assisted suicide this month at its next interim meeting. A set of resolutions, proposed by AMA’s Resident and Fellow section, suggest the AMA should abandon its opposition to assisted suicide, adopting instead a neutral stance on the practice. The resolutions also propose changing the official language from “assisted suicide” to “medical aid in dying” (MAID) at the meeting, which will take place on November 10-14.

Currently, the AMA deems euthanasia “fundamentally incompatible with the physician’s role as healer.” Yet, the AMA has already bottomed out on the slippery slope of allowing abortion; now, it is on verge of digging to rock bottom by further devolving the physician’s role from healer to killer. Indeed, having seen the success of its political arguments in favor of abortion – including all the way up until birth and beyond, if initially botched – the Left is again framing the debate as one of the vox populi clamoring for this “right of self-determination” and “matter of personal autonomy.” Exercising the Left’s execrably powers of projection, the organization’s euthanasia supporters archly claim the AMA’s historical, unambiguous opposition to euthanasia has caused ‘conflict in the ethical obligations’ of medical professionals.”

Yep. The same Leftists, whose commitment to “personal autonomy” included supporting compulsory COVID vaccinations, now want to add euthanasia to the list of ways you can exit this vale of tears, if not for your own good, then at least for the betterment of everyone else. Sure, it is voluntary, but as we have seen in Europe, government run-health care isn’t free, after all. How long until the AMA may be debating resolutions calling for the adoption of “comparative effectiveness” in providing health care? How long until doctors and health care providers are unilaterally making end of life decisions, not patients, spouses, parents and/or families? How long until the Leftists, who violate health care providers’ freedom of conscience by demanding they perform abortions and/or attend mandatory DIE cult (“diversity, inclusion, and equity”), compel and/or coerce them into assisting suicides?

Fortunately, the AMA rejected the Left’s attempt to sanction assisted suicide. Indeed, the AMA also rejected replacing the term “assisted suicide” with the euphemism “medical assistance in dying.” As National Review’s Wesley J. Smith reminds us, the AMA’s current policy remains in place and says in pertinent part: “Euthanasia is fundamentally incompatible with the physician’s role as healer, would be difficult or impossible to control, and would pose serious societal risks.  Euthanasia could readily be extended to incompetent patients and other vulnerable populations.”

Mr. Smith concludes on an optimistic note: “The death agenda can be stopped. Onward.”

Perhaps, but history instructs us that this is less an instance of the death agenda being stopped than merely being paused. The heralds of the Cult of Death never take “no” for an answer from their victims. Consequently, notwithstanding the AMA’s latest rejection, assisted suicide is already permitted and practiced in some states with more in line to adopt it; and more states are being targeted to insert abortion into their state constitutions and statute books.

In pushing the death agenda’s twin evils of abortion and euthanasia, the “compassionate” Left seeks the power to kill you coming or going. Apparently, when it comes to the climate apocalypse, Goddess Gaia doesn’t care if you’re sacrificed to her as an hors d’oeuvre or dessert.
