  1. Obviously, the backers of DeSantis–actually, all the RINO candidates–have been banking on Trump being removed from the race either by the weaponization of (in)justice, or more probably, Trump’s removal from state ballots due to his legal entanglements.

These cynical Republican donors believe that Republican voters may only vote for the candidates the donors buy choose. And judging from the opinion of Messers Boose and Ingrassia (I did not watch the debate nor any clips–Fox News is dead to me), based on last night’s candidate performance, Republican donors still think they can force the candidate of their choice down our throats.

But, as the author’s note, this is not 2012 and voters are in no mood to “hold their nose” and vote for the candidate chosen for them.

Although I pray that Trump defies odds and wins both the Republican primary and General Election, I am quite pessimistic he can defeat such odds. It seems the Ruling Class is hell-bent on ignoring the will of the people and forcing both its candidates and misanthropic agenda on We the People.

The Ruling Class is placing its bets on the sheeple grudgingly accepting whatever terms are meted out. Although its possible they are right, that’s not a bet I would take.

  2. Baier and MacCallum lost control early and never gained it back. Hutchison and Christie both demonstrated that being anti-Trump candidates is a losing strategy. DeSantis neither crashed nor soared—putting his campaign in jeopardy. Haley wagged her finger. Ramaswamy had a few good moments but showed his inexperience by claiming ALL on the stage–except him–were bought by the donor class. (Too broad and too braggadocios) Scott showed he is this year’s Ben Carson—nice guy, would love to have him as a friend, but not presidential. Burgum did okay----there must be at least ten more people in the US who now knows the name of the North Dakota governor.

I didn’t stay all the way to the closing arguments. I saw enough in the first 45 minutes. Trump will suck all of the oxygen from the room later today when he turns himself in. Meanwhile, Joe thinks a kitchen fire is equivalent to losing ALL of one’s possessions, livelihood, and possible family members is a demonstration of empathy. More like imp-pathy.

edited—the after-debate podcast by Dave Rubin is worth watching. A very diverse panel that brought Dave, Glenn Greenwald, Michael Malice, and Jordan Peterson all together at one table. It is up on both YouTube and Rumble.
