Morning Greatness: McCarthy Plans to Remove Some Democrats from Committee Assignments

Good Tuesday morning.

  • 3:50pm: The President and The Vice President speak to the American people about the urgent need to pass legislation to protect the constitutional right to vote and the integrity of our elections

Two minutes of hate:

Feckless House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy stepped out of his submissive comfort zone to announce to Breitbart News that if/when the GOP takes over the House of Representatives in 2022, he will strip some Democrats of their committee assignments. I bet most of you think that the Democrats started this trend by yanking Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Rep. Paul Gosar off their committees but you would be wrong. The person who started pulling elected congressmen off their committees is…wait for it…wait for it…KEVIN MCCARTHY.

“We will not tolerate this type of language in the Republican Party … or in the Democratic Party as well,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., told reporters in 2019. “I watched what [former Representative] Steve King said and we took action.” King, an elected congressman from Iowa, for making racial insensitive remarks. “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?” King told The New York Times. “Why did I sit in classes teaching me about the merits of our history and our civilization?”

King should have been removed from his committee assignments for talking to the New York Times.

Fast forward to 2021. Why wouldn’t the Democrats remove political enemies from their committees? McCarthy showed them that he’s on board, all they needed to do was run a smear operation against their chosen target with the help of their activist friends in the media and then they could go in for the kill. That is what happened to MTG and Paul Gosar. Did McCarthy fight the Democrats who arguably have no authority over elected Republicans? No he did not.  Some will argue that King and MTG deserved to be removed. To that I say, let the voters at home decide if they want these folks representing them. Until then, the citizens should be represented on congressional committees via their elected representatives.

Do you ever see any Democrat criticize their fellow moonbats, no matter how insane their words and actions are? Just one example, Rep. Maxine Waters encouraged people to harass and disrupt Republicans and Trump Administration officials as they went about their daily lives and she was appointed chair of the powerful House Financial Services Committee.

Therefore, I support removing Democrats from the committees so we all operate according to the same rules. It’s not a fair game if there are two sets of rules!  I also hope and pray that McCarthy is not elected as Speaker of the House should the GOP take the majority in 2022.

“The Democrats have created a new thing where they’re picking and choosing who can be on committees,” McCarthy told Breitbart. “Never in the history [of Congress] have you had the majority tell the minority who can be on committee. But this new standard which these Democrats have voted for—if Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the private sector, there is no reason why he should be given one to be on Intel or Homeland Security. He will not be serving there.”

“Ilhan Omar should not be serving on Foreign Affairs,” McCarthy said. “This is a new level of what the Democrats have done.”

“You look at Adam Schiff—he should not be serving on Intel when he has openly, knowingly now used a fake dossier, lied to the American public in the process and doesn’t have any ill will [and] says he wants to continue to do it,” McCarthy said. “We’re going to reshape—think about what happened in Afghanistan. Why did Afghanistan collapse so fast? Was the Intel Committee under Adam Schiff focused on impeachment and not on the safety of America? Why are people coming across the border that are on a terrorist watch list? What are they doing about it? Their own members on that committee say it’s not happening when it’s true. We need to have an Intel Committee that looks at what’s happening around the world and keeps America safe. It should do exactly what it was created [to do]—overseeing of our agencies and others. We’re going to hold people to a higher standard in the process if they want to be on the Intel Committee and the training to be a part of it. Take the politics out of it.”

Here’s the difference between the Democrats and Republicans. The Democrats will fight McCarthy on this and if history is any indication, they will win.
