Will Ocasio-Cortez Launch a Primary Bid Against Chuck Schumer?

The Hill reports, President Donald Trump predicted Monday that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) will challenge Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer when he comes up for re-election in 2022 — and that the progressive freshman would “kick his ass.” Trump tweeted, “Because of how badly they did with the Impeachment Hoax, AOC will primary Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, and win.”

Trump also claimed that House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) has a “good chance” of losing to his primary opponent in New York’s 10th Congressional District and that Republicans would take back the House of Representatives in the November elections as a result of their handling of the impeachment push against him, which he described in as a “hoax.”

Trump wrote on Twitter. “It is all getting quite interesting. Pelosi will lose the House, AGAIN! My poll numbers look great.”

Trump made a similar statements about Ocasio-Cortez during a lunch with journalists ahead of the State of the Union address last week, said Fox News’s Bret Baier.

Nadler, who has represented his New York district since 2013, faces several primary opponents giving him his first serious primary contest in nearly 27 years in Congress.
