Morning Greatness: Sleazy, Moral Peacock Mitt Romney Votes to Convict Trump

Good Thursday morning.

Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:

  • The president attends the 68th Annual National Prayer Breakfast
  • President Trump participates in a credentialing ceremony for newly appointed Ambassadors to Washington, D.C.
  • The president delivers remarks
  • President Trump participates in the arrival of the President of the Republic of Kenya
  • The president participates in an expanded bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Kenya
  • President Trump receives a Coronavirus Task Force Update

Mitt Romney, American Traitor

Senator Mitt Romney was the lone Senator to cross party lines in the Senate impeachment vote that ultimately acquitted President Trump. I am comfortable saying that I am very happy Mitt Romney lost the 2012 presidential election even if it gave us four more years of Obama. Why? Because I believe that people like Mitt Romney need to be punished by the voters and reminded that they do not represent the people in the party. I would rather sleazy politicians like Romney lose an election to Democrats than to put a sleazy, moral peacock into office under the banner of the GOP. He lost, he is a loser and he deserved to lose.

If Mitch McConnell was serious, he would immediately remove Romney from any prestigious committee assignments, put him on the Committee for Farting and announce the National Republican Senate Committee (NRSC) will support a primary challenger for his reelection in four years. But he won’t do this. I hope Trump cuts parasite Romney off: no meetings, no invites to dinner, NOTHING. Trump should tell McConnell he won’t sign any bills with Romney’s name as a co-sponsor on it.

If you are wondering how Schumer got his whole flock to vote to convict, this is how. Schumer told vulnerable Senators like Sinema, Jones, and Manchin that if they don’t get on the conviction train, the Senate will abandon them and he will remove them from plum committee assignments. This is the game the GOP won’t play. This is why the GOP is doomed to fight this battles forever, because the don’t play hard ball.

“I swore an oath before God to exercise impartial justice. I am profoundly religious. My faith is at the heart of who I am. I take an oath before God as enormously consequential,” he said on the Senate floor before the vote.

No one believes this. “Righteous” Romney had pre-taped and embargoed several interviews to talk about his bold and moral stance so please, gimme a break that this was a call of his conscience. He’s just like James Comey, a fame whore, publicity seeking dirt bag. Do you notice the similarity? He will forever be known as the first Senator in the history of this country to vote to remove a sitting president of the same party.

Fall out from the “The Tear Heard ‘Round the World”

Frail Nancy Pelosi had to “pre-rip” the president’s speech with her diseased finger bones as she famously performed her act of civil disobedience. Some people claimed that Pelosi’s desperate tantrum was the result of Trump not shaking her hand, but it’s more likely she was planning on pulling her stunt no matter what Trump did. I think Trump understands there should be no olive branches or civility because these folks are out to get you by any means necessary.

We keep hearing that President Trump is breaking all the norms. Bur Pelosi ripped up the official U.S. government record of the SOTU speech and green lit a failed speed impeachment brewed up an a secret basement bunker.

So who won the Iowa Caucus?

We don’t know yet. With 97% of the precincts reporting, Buttigieg has a narrow lead. Fox News reports:

As of Wednesday night, Buttigieg, the former South Bend, Ind., mayor, led the race with 26.2 percent of delegates over the 26.1 percent in favor of Sanders, according to numbers released by the Iowa Democratic Party.

But there’s some funky math here so you decide.
