Michelle Obama Defends Greta Thunberg Against President Trump Tweet

After President Donald Trump hilariously mocked Greta Thunberg on Twitter this week, former First Lady Michelle Obama came to the defense of the 16-year-old climate activist and sent a Tweet of support to Greta, CBS News reports.

Trump had tweeted, “So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!”

“Don’t let anyone dim your light,” Obama wrote, in part. “Ignore the doubters and know that millions of people are cheering you on.”

Michelle’s message came just a day after President Trump slammed the climate change activist, who earlier this week was named Time’s 2019 Person of the Year.

Time said it chose to honor the 16-year-old “for sounding the alarm about humanity’s predatory relationship with the only home we have, for bringing to a fragmented world a voice that transcends backgrounds and borders, for showing us all what it might look like when a new generation leads.”

Thunberg, who has Asburgers’s, attributes her passionate activism in part to the neurological makeup she’s called her “superpower.”
