We can only hope that America will one day see Russia as a competitor with rational motivations, not as a target for the ever-shifting ideological agendas of the U.S. government.
Americans must recognize that foreign aid, rather than empowering democracy and freedom abroad, often fuels instability and violence in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions.
Although thorough, thought-provoking, and chilling in its descriptions of the problems in America’s heartland, the prescription from “America Lost” feels like an insufficient response.
