Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is advocating for a “K-12 digital literacy program” in New York State to inform parents and kids “about the potential dangers of social media.”
In a Times-Union opinion piece Monday, Clinton and Jim Steyer, a children’s advocate and brother of billionaire liberal activist Tom Steyer, commended the state Legislature and New York Governor Kathy Hochul for passing “the nation-leading SAFE For Kids Act to combat addictive social media feeds and out-of-control notifications.”
Contending that more needs to be done to protect children, the pair called for three additional measures to be passed, two of which are nonpartisan and uncontroversial: a ban on the use of cellphones during the entire school day and a program to inform kids about the risks of using artificial intelligence.
More problematically however, Clinton and Steyer also advocated for a program to teach children “the skills they need to navigate the online world.”
To that end, the pair urged lawmakers in Albany to “fight for a K-12 digital literacy program in conjunction with classroom phone bans.”
While Clinton and Steyer avoided out-of-favor buzzwords like “misinformation” and “disinformation” in their piece, they did call for warning labels on certain social media platforms.
Democrats during the Biden regime instituted a massive government censorship enterprise to suppress opposing views on election integrity, COVID vaccines, illegal immigration and more.
On his first day in office, President Trump signed an executive order to dismantle the Biden era federal censorship complex.
Now, under the pretext of “keeping people safe,” Clinton and Steyer appear to be encouraging a “nation-leading” reprisal of the Democrats’ censorship effort in New York.
“Legislation introduced by state Sen. Andrew Gounardes and Assemblymember Nily Rozic would require warning labels on social media platforms,” they wrote. “As on alcohol and ibuprofen, the labels would clarify who is at risk from using the product and help keep people safe.”
