Multiple Incendiary Devices Found at Austin Tesla Dealership

Multiple “incendiary devices” were reportedly found at a Tesla showroom in Austin, Texas, Monday morning.

The Austin Police Department (APD) said it received a call about suspicious devices at the dealership at around 8:04 a.m., and the APD bomb squad was sent out to investigate.

Once they were “determined to be incendiary,” the explosives were taken by the bomb squad without incident, KXAN reported.

Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) were also called to the scene, according to KXAN.

A spokesperson for the FBI said in a statement that the Bureau was investigating this incident, along with several other anti-Tesla cases.

“The FBI is working with our law enforcement partners to investigate a number of recent incidents in which Tesla charging stations and dealerships were damaged,” the FBI stated. “Incidents have occurred in several states and the FBI is coordinating with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to gather information.”

The FBI also released a PSA on Friday on urging the public to “exercise vigilance and to look out for suspicious activity in areas occupied by Tesla dealerships or Tesla-related entities.”

City Council Member Krista Laine, who represents this area of Austin, released a statement condemning the attempted bombing of the Austin Tesla facility.

“I am incredibly thankful to our APD officers for their prompt response to this incident and quick resolution ensuring that no one was hurt. I strongly condemn any action that puts the people of Austin in danger. No matter the motivation, violence of any kind is unacceptable. I am deeply relieved that no one was hurt during this incident and am in discussion with APD Chief Lisa Davis about how to ensure our residents’ protection in the case of future violent escalations,” Laine said.

No suspects in the case have been released, and the APD’s investigation is ongoing.

The latest potentially explosive incident comes amid a Democrat campaign to punish Tesla CEO Elon Musk for his efforts to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Left-wing organizers have planned a “global day of action” to “Take Down” Tesla on March 29, aiming for protests at 277 locations in the U.S. and 500 Tesla locations around the world.

The FBI, Department of Justice and Homeland Security have prioritized investigations into the attacks targeting Tesla and conservative influencers nationwide, calling them acts of “domestic terrorism.”

Last Wednesday, Bondi promised “severe consequences” for anyone involved in vandalizing or firebombing Tesla vehicles.

“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” Bondi said in a statement last week.

On Truth Social Thursday night, Trump warned that people who are caught “sabotaging Teslas will stand a very good chance of going to jail for up to twenty years, and that includes the funders.”

The president stated in a separate post Friday morning: “I look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20 year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla. Perhaps they could serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions!”
