President Trump Calls for a Halt on Nationwide Injunctions

On Thursday, President Donald Trump called for the Supreme Court to issue a ruling ordering that no further nationwide injunctions may be issued by single judges against his policies and actions.

As The Hill reports, President Trump posted a statement on Truth Social declaring that “Unlawful Nationwide Injunctions by Radical Left Judges could very well lead to the destruction of our Country!”

“These people are Lunatics, who do not care, even a little bit, about the repercussions from their very dangerous and incorrect Decisions and Rulings,” the 47th president continued, noting that it is the “obligation of Law abiding Agencies of Government to have these ‘Orders’ overturned.”

“Stop nationwide injunctions now, before it is too late,” President Trump declared. “If Justice Roberts and the United States Supreme Court do not fix this toxic and unprecedented situation IMMEDIATELY, our Country is in very serious trouble!”

Since returning to office in January, the second Trump Administration has faced a barrage of legal challenges from far-left groups, who often appeal to justices that are known to have left-wing biases such as those who were appointed by Democratic presidents. These injunctions have ranged from President Trump’s federal layoffs to his cracking down on transgenderism.

In one of the most egregious cases of judicial overreach, U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Columbia James Boasberg issued a ruling forbidding President Trump from deporting any more Venezuelan illegal aliens. But the Trump Administration defied his ruling and sent a plane full of Venezuelan gang members out of the country anyway, enraging Boasberg.

On the same day as President Trump’s statement, Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) announced that he intends to introduce a bill to severely limit the authority of judges, declaring that such judges have displayed a “dramatic abuse of judicial authority.” Senator Hawley is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
