Left-Wing Arab Group Sues White House Over Deportations of Anti-Israel Rioters

On Saturday, a left-wing Arab group filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration over the administration’s efforts to deport foreign students who engaged in violent anti-Semitic and anti-Israel protests and riots.

According to the Daily Caller, the lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York by the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (AAADC). The suit intends to block the Trump Administration’s deportation efforts of foreigners who came to the U.S. as students but have since engaged in protests against Israel.

The lawsuit demands a nationwide injunction against two executive orders signed by President Donald Trump, both of which authorize the deportation of foreign students involved in such protests and riots. The AAADC, which is filing on behalf of two students and one professor at Cornell University, claims that such an order is “unconstitutional.”

“The First Amendment guarantees the freedom of speech and expression to all persons within the United States, without exception,” said Abed Ayoub, AAADC’s National Executive Director, in a statement. “By targeting and punishing students who have spoken up in support of Palestine — or otherwise engaged in lawful protest —the Administration’s extreme Orders threaten to silence entire communities and unlawfully single out international students who contribute significantly to our academic, social, and economic institutions.”

The AAADC, which claims to simply be a civil rights group that defends the rights of Arab-Americans, has its own history of far-left and anti-Israel stances that align with the protestors and rioters they now seek to protect. Shortly after the mass attack against Israel by the Islamic terrorist group Hamas on October 7th, 2023, in which 1,400 Israelis were killed and hundreds taken hostage, the AAADC issued a statement calling the attack an act of “Palestinian resistance.”

The lawsuit comes amid the ongoing coverage of the Trump Administration’s efforts to deport Mahmoud Khalil, a Syrian immigrant who led many of the anti-Semitic riots at Columbia University, the setting of the most violent demonstrations of any college campus in the country. Other radical students who have been targeted for deportation include Leqaa Kordia and Ranjani Srinivasan.

President Trump has been carrying out deportations even despite rulings from certain judges. When U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg tried to halt the Trump Administration from deporting Venezuelan gang members on Saturday, the administration ultimately deported the illegals anyway, in defiance of Boasberg’s order.
