EPA Chief Lee Zeldin Locates and Demands Return of $20 Billion Biden Officials Tried to Funnel to Left-Wing Groups

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator Lee Zeldin announced Wednesday that his team has located $20 billion in tax dollars that agency ideologues rushed out the door in the waning days of the Biden administration.

“An extremely disturbing video circulated two months ago, featuring a Biden EPA political appointee talking about how they were ‘tossing gold bars off the Titanic,’ rushing to get billions of your tax dollars out the door before Inauguration Day,” Zeldin said in a video posted to X, citing a Project Veritas undercover report from December 2024. “The ‘gold bars’ were tax dollars and ‘tossing them off the Titanic’ meant the Biden administration knew they were wasting it.”

EPA employee Brent Efron revealed on hidden camera that his job was to distribute over $100 billion in grants to left-wing nonprofit groups under “Biden’s climate law,” also known as the Inflation Reduction Act. The scheme was implemented to ensure the Biden regime’s climate agenda remained operative—no matter who was in charge.

“Get the money out as fast as possible before they [Trump Administration] come in,” Efron said. “It’s like we’re on the Titanic and we’re throwing gold bars off the edge.”

Zeldin vowed to recover $20 billion of “gold bars” found “parked at an outside financial institution,” which he did not name.

“There is zero reason to suspect any wrongdoing by the bank,” the former New York congressman said, adding that the agreement with the institution “needs to be instantly terminated” and all the money immediately returned.

He noted that “this scheme was the first of its kind in EPA history, and it was purposefully designed to obligate all the money in a rush job with reduced oversight” before Inauguration Day.

Zeldin said the EPA will resume responsibility for the funds and that his team will “review every penny that has gone out the door.”

The EPA chief also said that he would refer the matter to the inspector general’s office and would work with the Department of Justice to assist President Donald Trump in regaining control of the rogue agency.

“The days of irresponsibly shoveling boatloads of cash to far-left activist groups in the name of environmental justice and climate equity are over,” Zeldin said. “The American public deserves a more transparent and accountable government than what transpired these past four years.”
