In the span of just two years during the presidency of Joe Biden, the digital app used by illegal aliens to apply for amnesty received over 166 million applications.
According to the Daily Caller, the staggering number of applications via the CBP One app was confirmed by internal documents obtained by CBS. Overall, the app allowed nearly one million illegals to enter the United States before it was shut down on Monday, following the second inauguration of President Donald Trump.
The app was first launched in October 2020, but significantly expanded its purpose in January of 2023, allowing illegals to schedule appointments for hearings to obtain exemptions such as asylum-seeking status. Illegals could also use the app to submit biometric data to federal immigration officials, enabling them to apply for authorized travel and parole.
The app was estimated to have seen at least 1,400 appointment requests per day, with over 900,000 illegals seeing their appointments actually take place from January of 2023 to December of 2024.
President Trump had repeatedly vowed on the campaign trail to shut down the app, which was widely perceived as a form of undermining the legal immigration process and instead giving a quasi-legal status to millions of illegals.
South Dakota Governor Governor Kristi Noem (R-S.D.), President Trump’s nominee for Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), confirmed during her confirmation hearing that “CBP One will be shut down,” and even revealed that the Trump Administration’s DHS would use the app’s data to track down illegals for deportation.
“There’s data and information in there that we will preserve, so that we can ensure we know who’s coming into this country and who’s already here, that we need to go find,” said Noem at the time.
The swift deactivation of the app on Monday, shortly after President Trump’s swearing-in at Noon, saw yet another campaign promise immediately fulfilled. President Trump has pledged to resume construction of the southern border wall, as well as carry out the largest mass deportation operation in history.
