U.S. House Passes Measure to Deport Illegal Alien Sex Offenders With Bipartisan Support

The Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday passed legislation to deport illegal immigrants with a history of violence against women with the support of 61 Democrats.

The Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, introduced by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), mandates deportation for illegal aliens convicted of rape, murder, child molestation, and other sex offenses.  The bill also establishes that illegal aliens convicted of such crimes will be deemed inadmissible to the United States.

The legislation passed on a bipartisan vote of 274-145 and is now headed to the U.S. Senate.

“My bill makes it very clear: if an illegal alien commits a sex crime or act of domestic violence, they are inadmissible and deportable – we aren’t letting you into our country, and if you’re already here, we are sending you back to yours,” Mace explained on X ahead of the vote.

In a statement following the vote, Mace voiced her disgust that 145 Democrats, including left-win squad members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mi.) voted against a measure meant to protect women and girls.

“No family should endure the heartbreak the families of Laken Riley, Mollie Tibbetts, Karina Vetrano, and Maddie Hines have experienced. Every woman and every girl deserves to feel safe in their own community,” Mace said in a statement after the vote. “The radical left doesn’t agree with this. 145 liberals in Congress love illegal immigrant rapists and murders. House Republicans united to expand protections for women and put the safety of Americans first.”

“This isn’t complicated—keeping criminal illegal aliens out of our country and off our streets is just common sense,” Mace continued. “Women should be able to walk down the street without fear, and families should feel safe in their own neighborhoods.”

Last week, the House also passed the Laken Riley Act with 48 Democrats breaking ranks and voting with Republicans in the 264 to 159 vote. Both bills are expected to pass with bipartisan support in the upper chamber.

Well, that’s odd. Isn’t the general idea of secure borders to prevent anyone from entering illegally, regardless of their background? Did Mace miss that part of her Civics edjumacation?
