Illegal Alien Arrested for Burning New York Subway Passenger to Death

On Sunday, a passenger on the New York City subway was set on fire and burned alive while they were sleeping. An illegal alien from Guatemala was arrested for the crime.

As the Daily Caller reports, the female passenger was found ablaze on the F train at about 7:30 AM, while it was at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch clarified the details at a press conference, saying that the suspect allegedly approached the victim as she slept and used a lighter to set her on fire.

When officers arrived upon seeing smoke, they found “a person standing inside the train car fully engulfed in flames.” The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, 33 years old, first entered the U.S. illegally in 2018. Officials have not yet released the name of the victim.

Police also revealed that the illegal did not flee the scene after setting fire to his victim, remaining in the car and watching her burn. The victim can be seen burning as she stands up inside the car in a video that has gone viral, while the suspect can be seen in stills taken from security camera footage inside the car. Multiple witnesses called 911 to identify the suspect, leading to his capture on another train.

No charges have yet been announced for the suspect.

The incident marks the latest horrifying example of violent crime spiking in America’s largest city, and particularly on the subway system. The rate of murders on the subway has risen by 60% in 2024, according to data from the New York Police Department (NYPD). New York has also been suffering from a flood of illegal aliens pouring into the city under the presidency of Joe Biden, due to the Biden Administration’s “open borders” policy as well as New York’s status as a sanctuary city.
