Border Patrol Chief Says 10,000 ‘Special Interest Aliens’ Arrested in the New Fiscal Year

Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens has claimed that over 10,000 illegal aliens designated as “Special Interest Aliens” (SIAs) have been apprehended in the first two-and-a-half months of the new fiscal year.

As Breitbart reports, SIAs are illegals who come from countries that have known ties to terrorism. Since October 1st, over 10,000 such illegals have crossed into Texas from Mexico.

On October 3rd, a large group of illegals crossed into Texas near Eagle Pass, with at least 27 of them being SIAs from such countries as Afghanistan, Egypt, India, Iran, and Pakistan. Just two weeks later, over 500 illegals crossed the border, with SIAs among them from Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, and Turkey. Overall, at least 124 Iranian illegals were arrested in the month of October.

In November, Texas authorities arrested SIAs from countries such as Mali and Angola, who crossed the border alongside minors that they used as cover to get into the United States.

The wide variety of countries of origin for so many illegals proves just how many were determined to take advantage of the outgoing Biden Administration’s open-borders approach to immigration, where aliens from around the world were encouraged to enter the country illegally in order to receive free, taxpayer-funded benefits.

President-elect Donald Trump, just as in 2016, campaigned primarily on cracking down on immigration, vowing to finish building the southern border wall and to carry out the largest mass deportation operation in American history.
