Colorado Democrats Pass Law to Give Free Healthcare to Illegal Aliens

In Colorado, a law is set to go into effect that will give illegal aliens free healthcare that will be funded by the taxpayers.

As Breitbart reports, the new “Cover All Coloradans” program will go into effect on January 1st, and will extend free Medicaid coverage to illegals, illegal alien children, and pregnant illegals. The program will grant illegals access to physical, dental, vision, and mental healthcare for children, as well as prenatal and postpartum care. It is expected to cost state taxpayers up to $51 million.

The law came about as a result of collaborations between Governor Jared Polis (D-Colo.) and far-left, pro-immigrant groups, which are now working on a campaign to make as many illegals as possible aware of their new benefits come January 1st. They are also informing illegals that their personal information will not be given to federal immigration authorities, as Colorado doubles down on its “sanctuary state” status.

Republicans in the state remain opposed to the new law, which was first passed in 2022, primarily due to the steep cost.

“We as Coloradans and lawmakers are going to have to deal with how we pay for this,” said State Representative Matt Soper (R-Colo). “The cost is going to be fourfold what we anticipated two years ago. We shouldn’t be giving programs and services to undocumented immigrants that we aren’t giving to citizens who are within Colorado.”

Similar efforts to give illegals free healthcare elsewhere in the country have racked up significant costs to taxpayers. In November of 2023, a report by the House Committee on Homeland Security determined that the national cost of Biden’s border crisis was at least $451 million, with a significant portion of those costs coming from medical care being given to illegals for free.

Migrants must throw away larger items like backpacks and extra clothing before being transported to a larger facility. A surge of immigrants illegally passing through openings cut by smugglers into the border wall has overwhelmed U.S. immigration authorities, causing them to shut down several international ports of entry so that officers can help process the new arrivals.
