Trump Negotiates Deal With Mexico to Close the Border ‘Effective Immediately’

President-elect Donald Trump hasn’t taken office yet, but he is already notching wins for the American people.

Trump announced Wednesday evening that the new president of Mexico has agreed to stop the flow of migration through Mexico into the United States, “effectively closing our Southern Border.”

“Mexico will stop people from going to our Southern Border, effective immediately. THIS WILL GO A LONG WAY TOWARD STOPPING THE ILLEGAL INVASION OF THE USA. Thank you!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social.

Trump and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum reportedly “discussed economic, security, and migration issues” during the call.

Sheinbaum, a member of the leftist Moreno Party, characterized the conversation as having an “excellent” collaborative tone, despite Trump’s threat to apply a 25 percent tax on imports from Canada and Mexico.

“We discussed Mexico’s strategy regarding the phenomenon of migration,” she stated.

“Just had a wonderful conversation with the new President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “She has agreed to stop Migration through Mexico, and into the United States, effectively closing our Southern Border. We also talked about what can be done to stop the massive drug inflow into the United States, and also, U.S. consumption of these drugs. It was a very productive conversation!’

Mexico’s Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard had issued a warning earlier that Trump’s tariffs could “hurt American companies and cost them hundreds of thousands of jobs.”

In another positive development Wednesday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that the federal court of appeals had ruled in the Lone Star State’s favor in the razor wire case.

Texas began installing the razor wire barriers “in high-traffic areas for illegal crossings at the Texas-Mexico border” in January 2023 to stem the flow of illegal crossings. Human smugglers, gangs, spies, criminals, and those on the terrorist watchlists frequently cross into the U.S. in between ports of entry.

In June 2023, shocking video footage from the Texas border showed a Border Patrol agent cutting an opening through razor wire to allow illegal immigrants to cross over to the American side.

The video showed the BP agent holding the razor wire open for the 15 to 20 illegal aliens who had been trafficked across the Rio Grande in a motor boat.

Abbott sued the Biden regime for repeatedly cutting the razor wire in October 2023, and a federal judge in November 2023 ordered them to stop cutting through through the  barriers.

In a post on X, Abbott said that the court had ultimately ruled that “Texas has the right to build the razor wire border wall that we have constructed to deny illegal entry into our state and that Biden was wrong to cut our razor wire.”
