Trump Confirms That He Plans to Declare National Emergency and Use Military Assets to Stop Border Invasion

President-elect Donald Trump on Monday confirmed reports that he is planning to declare a national emergency at the southern border in order to use the military to stop “the invasion.”

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton shared the news on Truth Social in a post that Trump reposted to his followers, along with the comment “TRUE.”

“GOOD NEWS: Reports are the incoming @RealDonaldTrump administration prepared to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program,” Fitton wrote.

Trump ran on the Biden-Harris border crisis during the campaign, focusing heavily on the many victims of illegal immigrant crime. The issue ended up being second most important issue to 2024 election voters after inflation. Trump vowed to stop the flow of illegal immigration if reelected.

“The American people re-elected President Trump by a resounding margin, giving him a mandate to implement the promises he made on the campaign trail. He will deliver,” Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for the Trump transition team, told Fox News Digital.

Trump has appointed former ICE Director Tom Homan as his Border Czar, putting him in charge of executing the largest deportation operation in the nation’s history. Homan told Fox News Monday that his team will “prioritize public safety threats.”

In addition to deporting criminal illegal aliens, Homan said he would prioritize locking down the border and rescuing the hundreds of thousands of children who went missing during the large-scale child trafficking operation that was allowed to occur under Biden-Harris.

“We have over 300,000 missing children—over a half a million children have been trafficked into the United States since this administration released them to unvetted sponsors, and they can’t find over 300,000,” Homan told Fox News anchor John Roberts. “And based on my three and a half decades [as an immigration official], some of these children are in forced labor, some have already been found in forced labor, some are in forced sex trafficking, some of them are with pedophiles,” Homan explained, adding, “we need to save these children.”
