As Joe Biden prepares to leave office in January, his administration announced even more spending on “climate change initiatives” to the tune of $1.4 billion.
According to the Washington Examiner, Biden’s announcement on Thursday will allocate the funding to various programs and measures at several different agencies, with the bulk of it going to the Department of Transportation (DOT). The DOT will receive $1.2 billion for the purpose of using “cleaner construction materials for transportation projects.”
This marks the latest spending on efforts to counter so-called “global warming” as a result of the Inflation Reduction Act, a law that, despite its name, focused more on global warming than on inflation. Similar “green” measures were also included in the infrastructure law that was passed by Congress; that bill, again, focused more on global warming despite its name.
“When President Biden took office, he pledged to restore America’s climate leadership at home and abroad,” said the press release announcing the additional spending. “Every day since, the Biden-Harris Administration has led and delivered on the most ambitious climate, conservation, clean energy, and environmental justice agenda in history.”
In addition to the money going to the DOT, the Department of Energy (DOE) will receive $18 million to be distributed to 61 different local governments. This funding will go towards a number of “energy efficiency and decarbonization projects.”
The Department of Agriculture (DOA) will also spend $256 million to fund “more than 1,100 clean energy projects in 40 states.”
The Biden-Harris Administration has made “global warming” a top priority, even though scientific evidence universally agrees that global warming does not exist. The incoming Trump-Vance Administration is expected to shut down any such future projects and cancel such wasteful spending.
