Stunning Washington DC, Wednesday, President-elect Donald Trump announced that he has selected Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) to serve as his Attorney General.
“It is my Great Honor to announce that Congressman Matt Gaetz, of Florida, is hereby nominated to be The Attorney General of the United States,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Gaetz, 42, had not been mentioned as a candidate for the powerful position, but according to the New York Post, he “has been a loyal supporter of the 45th president and has been trying to influence the administration choices being made at Mar-a-Lago.”
“Matt is a deeply gifted and tenacious attorney, trained at the William & Mary College of Law, who has distinguished himself in Congress through his focus on achieving desperately needed reform at the Department of Justice. Few issues in America are more important than ending the partisan Weaponization of our Justice System,” Trump said of Gaetz in the statement.
“Matt will end Weaponized Government, protect our Borders, dismantle Criminal Organizations and restore Americans’ badly-shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department. On the House Judiciary Committee, which performs oversight of DOJ, Matt played a key role in defeating the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, and exposing alarming and systemic Government Corruption and Weaponization. He is a Champion for the Constitution and the Rule of Law,” the Truth statement read.
The Florida firebrand responded on X: “It will be an honor to serve as President Trump’s Attorney General!”
“The Attorney General position will require Senate approval, and with Republicans having a majority, Gaetz could get through without Democrat approval — though even Republicans expressed skepticism about his chances of confirmation in the moments after the pick was announced,” the Post noted.
Gaetz would replace AG Merrick Garland, who the Trump team has accused of going after Republicans and who also led a sex-trafficking investigation into the Floridian, which the Department of Justice eventually dropped.
After an 18-month investigation, the DOJ’s attempt to frame Gaetz fizzled out due to the extreme lack of credibility of the two central witnesses.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who knows something about weaponized lawfare himself, said he was “excited to work” with Gaetz.
“There are few people I trust more to take on the deep state and end the weaponization of the justice department. Matt Gaetz has been a stalwart defender of liberty, and Texas has his back. Congratulations, Matt,” Paxton posted on X.
In another surprising pick, Wednesday, Trump also announced that he has chosen former Hawaii Democrat Tulsi Gabbard for his Director of National Intelligence, whom the Biden regime put on a terror watch list. Rumors are also floating that the President-Elect will tap Kash Patel, who exposed the RussiaGate hoax, for FBI Director.
Ever noticed that Trump uses capitalization like our Founders did back in the day?
If I were in his position once he is in place, I would do a deep dive into all the partisan hack “prosecutors” who - at the behest of the always and ever corrupt Merrick Garland and company - had anything to do with the J-6, Mar-a-Lago gestapo raid, ad nauseam and then once I had my list and had checked it twice, then?
Fire them all, recommend to Trump that they all - along with the 51 former intelligence officers / traitors lose their security clearance - and pensions if possible and then - if also possible - begin to pursue them for criminal malfeasance and prosecutorial misconduct for election interference.
Until there is finally SOME type of accountability - until James Comey and Christopher Wray and that rogue’s gallery of more vile than vile “usual suspects” are made to truly, seriously suffer - and go to jail for their crimes - none of this silly “horse pucky” will stop - and the very next time they get the chance, they will blithely with gleeful delight and abandon - do it all over again.
They need to be ruined - professionally, financially and publically disgraced - characterized for what they are - terrorists in gentleman’s clothes.
