Fans protesting the intrusion of men into women’s sports were spotted Saturday during a match between San Diego State University (SDSU) and the San Jose State University (SJSU) team featuring biological male player Blaire Fleming.
Outkick reports that not only was a record crowd in attendance, but some of those fans expressed clear opposition to Fleming’s participation with a large banner which read “Save Women’s Sports” and chants of “No men in women’s sports.”
School officials from SDSU warned the group against what it called a “personalized verbal attack” and said that staff were on alert for what they referred to as forms of “hate speech” during the match.

Multiple Mountain West Conference women’s volleyball teams have chosen to forfeit matches rather than play the SJSU’s Fleming who pretends to be a woman.
The teams that have chosen to forfeit their matches have cited concerns over fairness as well as safety.
SJSU Associate head volleyball coach Melissa Batie-Smoose voiced similar concerns to school officials before she filed a 30 page Title IX complaint against the school, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Mountain West Conference.
Batie-Smoose, who was suspended by SJSU on Nov. 2, has continued to speak out against what she calls the school’s “toxic” inclusivity policies that place gender policies above the safety of female members of the team.
Batie-Smoose told “America’s Newsroom” on Fox News, “Safety is being taken away from women. Fair play is taken away from women. We need more and more people to do this and fight this fight because women’s sports, as we know it right now, will be forever changed.”
SJSU lost its match to SDSU on Saturday but the bigger story was the growing pushback from fans who are tired of seeing men competing against women in collegiate sports.
San Diego State broke ranks and played against San Jose State. But at least San Diego beat them. The crowds were three times larger than normal with people shouting "No men in women’s sports!”
