It is difficult to understand where the leaders of the #metoo movement and their fellow travelers at the bar, like Roberta Kaplan, Gloria Allred, and others are when it comes to Vice President Kamala Harris’s husband, Douglas Emhoff. Their silence is deafening and the politically selective expression of their outrage is unavoidably apparent.
Consider just the following:
Mr. Emhoff has admitted not only to cheating on his ex-wife during their marriage but to doing so with their young child’s teacher. And not only did he cheat on his wife and lie to conceal his affair, he has acknowledged that he impregnated his lover, but that “she did not keep” their baby.
Of course, Emhoff reportedly only came clean about his cheating and lying after he learned that a British tabloid was about to bust him. It turns out, as reported by CNN, that the affair and terminated pregnancy were known to the Harris/Biden campaign staff prior to the 2020 presidential election campaign, but were concealed from the American people. We still do not have all the relevant details.
Did Emhoff or anyone on his behalf pay the teacher for her silence? Did she get an abortion and, if so, did Emhoff pay for it? If so when was such payment made? Was it to buy her silence during the election? If so, will District Attorney Bragg or any other prosecutor bring criminal charges for trying to affect an election or for making an undisclosed campaign contribution? Has there been any investigation at all in furtherance of the public’s right to know as much as possible about our candidates for president?
But that’s not all.
In recent days another bombshell about Emhoff and women has broken: one might think the #metoo movement and everyone who both cares about the rights and safety of women and who believes that victims of abuse should be believed would be outraged by the latest news concerning Mr. Emhoff.
The media now reports that, according to three women who are friends with one of Emhoff’s ex-girlfriends, Emhoff became so enraged at the ex-girlfriend because he suspected her of “flirting” with another man while they were at the Cannes Film Festival, that he physically abused her, slapping her so hard that it spun her around. The three women reportedly have stayed anonymous because they are afraid of Emhoff.
Other reports of additional offensive sexist behavior are now coming out as well.
It does not take much to imagine how very differently the media would be handling such reports if they were in any way related to Donald Trump or anyone in his family. There undoubtedly would be a criminal indictment in the works and calls for his withdrawal from the election would be levied from every corner. Instead, in a recent MSNBC interview, Emhoff was asked how he can keep his temper in check when he hears these scurrilous allegations. Emhoff, in turn, did not deny any of the allegations; rather he dismissed them as a “distraction” and said he “doesn’t have time to be ‘pissed’ about the allegations. The entire exchange is a horrible commentary both on MSNBC’s approach to the news and on Emhoff’s arrogance, deceitfulness, and disrespect for the American people.
This is just one more example of the double standard applied in the current environment. There clearly is much more about Emhoff that the public deserves to know before the election; but with the media working with him to parry away the accusations and with the #metoo movement willing to sacrifice its purported principles for political expedience, it is unlikely we will know the relevant surrounding facts before the election.
The American public and especially our eligible voters are being cheated by Vice President Harris and her husband and her campaign. Is there more out there that could provide a basis for blackmail or extortion that will remain concealed during the Harris campaign for the Presidency?
We deserve to know and there should be a full investigation surrounding Emhoff and these issues and all others that come to light during such investigation.
“It is difficult to understand where the leaders of the #metoo movement and their fellow travelers at the bar, like Roberta Kaplan, Gloria Allred, and others are…”
Well, then, let me help, Mr. Schoen. “Me too,” like feminism writ large, is just another battering ram only useful insofar it can dismantle tradition and give more power to the Left. So is minoritarianism. Or “separation of Church and state.” Or the whole LGBTQWERTY movement. Or gun “safety,” AKA gun control. Or immigrationism. Or environmentalism. Or pro-Islamism. Progressive élite A uses wedge issue B to convince low-info voter C that yet another part of Western society is rotten and needs to be dismantled, preferably by giving more power to them. The constant, or K in mathematics, is always the same: destroy Western tradition and amass power.
This is why it’s a logical error to look for “our” sort of consistency in their ideas. The summum bonum of all these seemingly disparate movements is not to promote the safety of women, to let diverse religions flourish, to give equal opportunity to minorities, to reduce murders, to have a sane immigration system or to promote a clean environment–it is to destroy our way of life and amass power. These issues are only tools, only vehicles to dupe the easily-duped–since they cannot simply come out and say “all we want is absolute power to remake society.”
If we are to look for inconsistencies, let’s try to find some in their NOT advocating a cause in order to ultimately tear down another piece of our culture and arrogate more power for themselves. And good luck finding any such inconsistency in today’s Left.
Put another way: always look for what the Left is AGAINST, never what it’s for. What they claim they’re for is only the battering ram to get to what they are against–and unless an issue can be used to achieve that purpose, it’s dormant, like “me too” in this case. Bottom line: the Left is only “for” one thing: their absolute power and control for remaking society by first tearing it down.
