‘An Epochal Political Realignment’ Toxic Femininity & Wokeness Are Driving Voters to Trump

With one week to go before the presidential election, momentum seems to be decisively shifting away from Kamala Harris and to former president Donald Trump.
Journalists Michael Shellenberger and Alex Gutentag are calling it “an epochal realignment of American politics” and say that toxic femininity and wokeism are what’s turning the tide in Trump’s favor.

In an article published on Public, Shellenberger and Gutentag say that Trump is seeing increased support from men, billionaires, Muslims and Jews who have been driven away from Harris and the Democrats by toxic femininity and wokeism.

Among the indicators that the political tides are turning is the growing public support for Trump’s immigration plans which has forced Harris to move back toward the center.

Shellenberger and Gutentag point to the fact that, in under 24 hours, more than 20 million people viewed Joe Rogan’s three hour interview of Trump where taboo subjects like the JFK files were discussed.

They point out that Harris struggled to clearly answer questions put to her in a CNN town hall meeting with Anderson Cooper.

Meanwhile, Harris’s closing argument as to why she should be elected president came off as desperation as she devolved into calling Trump a fascist and Hitler sympathizer.

The best evidence that this claim is not being taken seriously by the public can be seen in the growing number of black, latino and young male voters telling pollsters that they’ll be voting for Trump in larger numbers than in 2020.

Trump also has drawn endorsements from several Arab and Muslim leaders and has narrowed Harris’s lead among Jewish voters.

Shellenberger and Gutentag also mention Trump’s growing support among the elite class, including billionaires like Elon Musk and Bill Ackman, many of whom were either Democrats or previously had voted for Biden.

One reason they give for the growing rejection of Harris is the populist backlash against the mainstream media at a time when public concerns over free speech are second only to concerns about immigration.

The journalists concede that next week’s election could still go either way but they also note that, even if Harris wins, she will not have a mandate to pursue her progressive agenda.

Shellenberger and Gutentag say the 2024 election may go down in history as having demonstrated a significant realignment of the electorate where Republicans gain and maintain a majority by capturing greater support from those who were driven away from the Democrats by woke policies.

  1. If you have any sense of self-preservation, there is absolutely no way you can vote Dems in this election.

Can someone please explain Jewish voters to me? How does anyone, any sane Jew decide that a woman who supports the eradication of Israel by Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, to name a few, or who refuses to denounce attacks on Jews in America deserve their vote? I don’t know what will cure them of their deep attachment to that party, but someone needs to try.

  3. Good question and indeed a perplexing conundrum, which you have defined and outlined!

Let’s try this on for size and see how it fits! SMS

I believe in God - totally, completely and am able - to, consequent - “see” Him / It / Her and the ordering, the intelligence that is God in everything and everyone that is part of my consciousness and to which I deign to extend my imagination to conceive of and bring into being in mine mind.

Yet, though, I believe unshakably in God - not as an anthropomorphic deity sitting up on high on a throne, wearing a crown and casting down lightning bolts to smite those who offend his eyes and will?

I do not subscribe to any organized religion - in spite of the fact, I was subjected to the misfortune of being forced to attend a parochial school from grades 1- 8 but then, escaped the next phase of “a good Catholic education, indoctrination” high school and attended a pretty good public high school, which offered back then the study of Latin - took three years - then, I found out no one speaks it anymore and stopped it.

At the age of 16, I turned my back totally and completely on The Church - and God and became an atheist - figuring that if God was the rotten, dirty type of scoundrel that willingly was backing the lies I knew and saw that The Catholic Church was trying to force-feed me and force down my throat? I wanted nothing to do with the son of a bitch.

It took me till I was about 22 before I wised up and realized that I didn’t need to eschew the concept of God while telling The Church to go to hell.

Anyway, hang on, I do have a point!

So ultimately via discovering Edgar Cayce, J. Krishnamurti and many others of similar ilk, I came to realize that there is a much more expansive and cosmic concept of God than any religion out there is “selling” - in the hope that they can keep the faithfuul locked into the pews and filling the church’s coffers - tithing - in the hope of achieving salvation.

Basically, I consider all religions, a huge, Matterhorn high mountain of “It’s a shame to know so much that isn’t so.” (Don’t know whose line that is, but I like very much.)

Yes, all the hefty tomes that the “venerable” and vaunted religions of the world base their mandates for the masses upon have truths in them - like "Thou shalt not kill, steal, covet etc., etc. but? Why do I need a book to tell me what my innate, commonsense tells me obviously, categorically, inherently intellectually and emotionally is right? I don’t but - doesn’t mean anyone who likes to consult with them is a bad person. Besides I could be completely wrong - there’s always that but, a man’s gotta do what he’s gotta do and thinks is right for him.

So, that point I was alluding to previously and talking about.

Is that - whether we are talking Jews, Catholics, Muslims or Feminists, Marxists, Communists - the Left, the Democrats (all of them are more or less a religion to their followers actually)

once they give over their minds, allow their reasoning capacities to be circumscribed, guided ruled “overwritten” by their “religion”? It becomes very hard for them to break with “tradition” - Channel Tevy from Fiddler on the Roof, now

    because to do so?

It would require a major reconfiguration of their minds and all the anchors that hold them to the particular reality they have chosen to give credence to

    • which, if it is highly religiously based is a tenuous attachment at best to same - sad to say

    • thus the knee jerk violence that can result when people think their religion - or political ideolgy - is threatened by someone presenting a real reason to question it.

So, we have Jews willing to basically, for all intents and purposes, vote to help the monstrosity that is the LEFT destroy Israel (not to mention America) and undermine all the good, the moral, the excellence of Western civilization - as they also want to destroy. Why? Because?

Basically? They don’t want to think about the things they don’t want to think about; were taught since knee-high to a duck not to think about because that?

That would mean they would have to grow up, smell the reality roses, and be true, self-actuating individuals; rather than willingly following -like sheep the Judas Goat of conformity and group think together - all goose-stepping towards the abattoir of stable sameness.

Not, to put too fine a point on it.

That is a deep dive, and I think you hit on something, Sam. It’s the one thing that bedevils most humans: accepting responsibility for their own thoughts, words and deeds. Most humans want someone else to be “responsible” and religion gives people cover. Probably the most obvious example is Islam, but other religions excuse bad behavior in the name of “The Almighty”. Instead of conquering their own failures and sins, they want forgiveness only, which is really the imprimatur for them to go on doing what they do, but (and I include this as a universal admonition from Jesus) they want to keep sinning. Jesus forgave people and told them to go and sin no more. How many people really strive to do that? It’s difficult, sometimes unimaginable so. People avoid pain at all costs.

It may seem strange for me to equate voting Democrat with sinning, but in my view it is. What else can it be? Your pregnancy is “inconvenient”? Get rid of it! Want something? Don’t work for it, just steal it! Democrats will make sure there are no consequences to someone’s crimes. The evil that oozes from the Democrat Party is so pervasive, it affects even ordinarily good and decent people who want to show compassion to others. Compassion is like a wine that gets better with age, and is just as rare, but its predecessor is wisdom, which is another virtue in very short supply these days!

  5. Your assessment that voting Democrat is equivalent to sinning? It is totally apropos; it is just like giving Baal the vote or, like casting and then worshiping The Golden Calf - by the Israelites that got Moses miffed; a no no in God’s eyes and of the truly faithful.

But - this again goes to my long who struck John I wrote above. Specifically, and succinctly this time, they have supplanted, jettisoned, abrogated their ability to reason pragmatically based on empirical, repeatable evidence and put in its place their religion or ideologies’ diktats of the way the world works - which may resemble and seem to be simpatico with real reality - but, aren’t; are instead only pale reflections of the real deal - so that?

When truly threatened by someone who does know how to reason, does know how to tear apart the tissue thin, nebulously woven, incongruous fabric that they clothe their minds in?

They have nowhere to go; save resort to fight or flight or, in the case of an inconvenience like a baby conceived because “girls and boys just wanna have fun” and party all the live long day - and refuse come hell or high water to be responsible? Well, it’s nothing much to opt to terminate it - with extreme prejudice and then sing?

    Another one bites the dust.
