The 2024 Trump campaign is the best he has run: professional, detail-oriented, and resonant. Still, much work remains to be done in the election’s closing days to secure a victory.
The best basketball players dribble with both hands—right and left. On the issue of the economy, the candidate and his campaign have done an exceptional job dribbling with both hands, showing Mr. Trump’s understanding of a policy’s intricacies (right hand) and empathy for the people impacted (left hand)—i.e., making the case how VP Harris was a blank check for Bidenomics that is destroying your American Dream.
The strongest evidence for this is the Harris campaign response of lying about a “Trump Tax,” pretending to be right-of-center tax cutters, and hoping voters refuse to believe the patent fact that V.P. Harris has been, well, V.P. for this disastrous administration. Yes, it is election season, and, once again, the Progressives are so proud of their radical, extreme, and dangerous agenda that they deny they are… progressive. Go figure.
Building upon this success, in the home stretch of the campaign, on their part, the former president and his team remain focused on courting a critical electoral population—Hispanics, the largest minority in America.
In appealing to Hispanic voters, the Trump campaign has made a dedicated, effective effort. Indeed, overall, Mr. Trump is on the cusp of again earning more minority votes than any Republican presidential nominee in decades (including himself). This is in no small part a testament to the creativity and competency of his campaign team and, of course, to the political instincts and skills of the former president. Again, however, there are more inroads to be trod and votes to earn.
On illegal immigration, Mr. Trump dribbles exceptionally well with his right hand by addressing the issue and, in general, its impact. He has long condemned the Biden-Harris administration’s open border policies and the overall devastation of illegal immigration—including the increasing instances of America’s enemies cruelly weaponizing mass migration to imperil our national security. He has made the case that V.P. Harris is a rubber stamp for open borders and its calamitous impacts.
Once again, Mr. Trump’s success is evinced by the Democrats’ calumnies on the issue. The left claims that opponents of open borders are xenophobic haters who want to stop all immigration to our nation. This is a lie. The opponents of open borders support orderly immigration, assimilation, and integration of legal migrants into the fabric of our nation. What is most damaging to immigrants who play by the rules and to the entire nation is the left’s open borders policy.
Thus, what is needed to further cut through the Democrat media complex’s distortions and smears on the issue and connect with Hispanic voters is an empathetic recognition that they often bear the first and worst brunt of Biden-Harris’s open border’s illegal immigration.
Recently, the Trump campaign has done exactly that at the Coachella, California, rally with a major assist from the Hon. Gloria Romero, a former Democrat and California state Senate Majority Leader. Per The Wall Street Journal:
‘The Democratic Party has taken all of us—and especially we Latinos and Latinas—for granted,’ Ms. Romero said on stage. ‘Inflation, lawlessness, and an open border, highest unemployment rate—[California is] second in the nation—groceries, gas, you name it…’
Her exasperation grew as the administration waved masses of migrants across the border, whom she says have especially burdened the communities of second- and third-generation Latino families. ‘Latinos are a very patriotic people,’ she says. ‘We believe that this is the greatest nation on earth. And citizenship matters…’
‘We are going to return America to its rightful place as the greatest nation on the earth…for all of our citizens.’
Importantly, Ms. Romero is well aware the left will attack Hispanics who dare stop toeing the progressive party line. But she is undaunted and defiant, and her words deserve to be heard in full:
The other side is going to try to scare you in the coming days because they are losing and fear is the only tool they can use. They are going to tell we are going to take things away from you. That we are not going to respect your rights. If anyone would know about not respecting others, it’s Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. No, we’re not going to do any of that. And we aren’t going to use fear to gain your vote. We’re going to make [you a] promise. We will work harder for you, your families, your friends and neighbors, for everyone, because the only way we make America great again is by us all working together. That is my solemn promise to you.
Ms. Romero knows the pain the Hispanic community is on the front line of suffering due to Biden-Harris’s “American Dream destroying” open borders: their wages are being depressed as they try to climb up the ladder of success; their schools and hospitals are being overcrowded; their social services are being depleted; their children and neighborhoods are being endangered and overrun by foreign criminal cartels and gangs.
Her appeal is one of understanding, empathy, and credibility. Consequently, in stark contrast to V.P. Harris, the Honorable Gloria Romero’s promise is an earnest, honest, and solemn appeal to her fellow Hispanics and, indeed, to all Americans. It is nothing less than a vow to redeem the American Dream, one the Honorable Gloria Romero and her candidate for president—Donald J. Trump—will fulfill for the Hispanic community and all Americans.

Many times on this site I have complained about a gender issue by reporting that if only women were allowed to vote Kamala would win. I have been told that men do stupid things as well. For clarification purposes I need to go further and advance along those lines because gender is only part of the issue and overall it is the smaller part.
Has America become a sexist and racist country? Everyone can certainly see that is what many now vote on. From a biological and cultural perspective human tribal societies evolved based upon race and sex. Never forget founding principles which created a Constitution designed to establish a civil society where harmony and prosperity would flourish based upon the elimination of race and gender and emphasizing only equality under the law. No one is born equal. Nor is it the job of others empowered with legislative, executive and judicial tools to create equity clones. To do so always authors tyranny. But more importantly consider that there was never a government ever created which protected the governed from those that govern the way the American Constitution originally did. I emphasize the 1964 Civil Right Act as one of the most damaging pieces of legislation ever created to defeat original intentions. It has been leveraged in every possible manner to give us DEI while simultaneously undermining federalism even more than was done by the 16th and 17th Amendments created and passed during Wilson’s Administration. Plus it has feminized men and masculinized women while provided the groundwork for races to despise each other. All of the aforementioned can be easily understood by reading “Mexifornia” written by the master historian Victor Davis Hanson without ever reading a modicum of literature dealing with the Founders, Founding Principles, the Declaration and the Constitution let alone the many brilliant minds from Aristotle through Locke.
America is now a nation of disparate genders, racists and nationalities that make the Tower of Babel seem sane by comparison.
Most men and women have no problem identifying what a woman is or what a masculine man is. Yet who created laws that thwart millions of years of evolutionary biology? The same people who create laws that weaken the United States and give parity, aid and support to her enemies.
I know why this article was written but in America the Constitutional Republic created by tough seasoned people (men only) who were young, brave and educated can anyone have ever imagined that they would have ever conceived of such content? And I do not say that despairingly about the author because it was well written and applicable to our current time. Those founding men knew their roles and were never confused about the fact that they were living to protect their wives, children and the lives of their fellow country men, women and children - they would self-sacrifice to achieve those ends. And women would have expected nothing less from them.
As a people we created a special country and forgot the reasons why. We grew constitutionally and advanced voting rights but with unintended consequences - one vote for every citizen. How is that working out? Citizens (and non-citizens) now vote to destroy the very country that gave them the ability to vote. How and why did it happen that we created the legislative tools to allow the most uneducated to now vote based on race and gender? Furthermore, besides just women, countless males will now vote to kill the “goose that lays the golden eggs”… so to speak. I cannot imagine in any way that originalism would have ever conceived that immigrant minorities would one day collude to vote as a suicidal uneducated mob to imperil the very host country that is about to become overwhelmed by the open border policies advanced by Harris and company… but it has. How and why has this been allowed to happen? I will leave these questions unanswered to let others dwell upon the root causes of why, at this time in our Republic’s history, politicians have to pander to minorities based on race. I offer one clue. We are no longer the Constitutional Republic we were designed to be.
The regime’s and its leftist allies’ number one mistake over the last four years was doing everything to sharpen the population’s critical thinking skills.
Yes, but this is supposed to happen by education from the Constitutional side prior to being close to checkmated. So what does the left do when discovered and senses a loss? They double down on rigging and cheating. All of the hispanic votes cannot overcome the rigged election scheme we are about to experience.
I despise the phrase “courting voters” as the implication is that by exchanging or promising to support a candidate, a quid pro quo relationship exists when the truth is that in a federal constitutional republic as the U.S. is, one is supposed to support the candidate who can best uphold the Constitution. Alas, we are not in the “goodie bag” business, and that applies particularly to the hispanic vote. It also applies to the LGBTQX vote, the Black vote, the Evangelical vote, etc… The fact that a “hispanic vote” exists or receives special attention along with any other group is a sign that E Pluribus Unum is now a lie or a joke. Clearly, this is due to the Marxists among us whose decades-long efforts to subvert any sense of shared values over individual traits like race, gender, or other collective traits has defeated those timeless ideals as the reason for our very existence. Marxism is a slow-acting poison, but it kills just as effectively as the fast-acting bullet or nuclear bomb.
The view that government exists to solve problems must be crushed, killed and if necessary, beaten out of people. Government exists only to protect citizens’ rights. Recent events at the border have demonstrated this government has not one thought for its citizens, nor any thought for their rights, the consent of the governed or any other cherished principle upon which our republic is based. Part of the reason is immigration itself, and importing people from places without existing frameworks for protecting citizens’ rights like Free Speech. Allowing millions, tens of millions of impoverished people from oppressive countries into the U.S. was always a recipe for failure. That is why we fail. We cannot build a free republic with substandard or missing parts. Part of the reason is a failure to assimilate people who can fulfill citizen’s responsibilities in a republic such as this. Part of the reason is the U.S. propensity to “join” with “other nations” in organizations that infringe (and therefore are unconstitutional) on our sovereignty. No elected body has authority to cede sovereignty in the name of climate change, peace, prosperity or anything else.
If citizens who share a particular heritage support Trump, then it should be because they, like any other engaged citizens, realize the present danger to the Republic, not because they believe Donald Trump will reward them with something during his tenure in the White House.
