Biden-Harris Administration Sued for Refusing to Help Purge Illegal Aliens from Voter Rolls

The state of Florida has filed a lawsuit against the Biden-Harris Administration due to its refusal to assist multiple states with efforts to purge illegal aliens from the voter rolls ahead of the 2024 election.

As reported by Fox News, Florida’s lawsuit states that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has an obligation to help verify the immigration status of anyone who is registered to vote.

“Because the federal government is refusing to comply with these obligations and frustrating Florida’s ability to maintain the integrity of its elections, Florida files this suit,” the lawsuit declares. The state added that it “has an obligation to maintain accurate and current voter registration records.”

State officials said that they have identified many illegals who are currently registered to vote, but upon reaching out to DHS’ U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), their requests for assistance were denied.

“Thus, Florida has identified a subset of individuals for whom it cannot verify citizenship or immigration status through SAVE and for whom DHS refuses to verify citizenship or immigration status through other means,” the state adds.

The lawsuit seeks for the court to declare that DHS’ refusal to respond is unlawful, as well as a declaration that the state is entitled to a response, and an order demanding DHS to respond to the inquiry.

“Voting is a right granted to American citizens — not illegal immigrants or other noncitizens. The Biden-Harris administration has allowed millions of illegal immigrants into the country, and we must ensure that only citizens are on our voter rolls,” said Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody (R-Fla.) in a statement. “I am taking legal action against the Department of Homeland Security and Secretary Mayorkas to ensure Florida is able to maintain the integrity of our state’s voter rolls.”

With only 17 days left until the 2024 election, voter fraud remains a top concern for many voters across the country, especially with the surge of illegal aliens over the last three and a half years due to the Biden-Harris Administration’s open-borders policy.
