Ned Ryun said progressives “rejected” the idea of individuals having inherent rights that are given by God as giving individuals the ability to claim their own rights would decrease their goals of consolidated power. He made the comments on a recent episode of The Greatness Conversation.
“So when we say rights-based government, it’s the whole idea that we have natural inherent rights that God gave to us, no earthly power gave to us, and that governments are meant to secure those rights, not give them, not take any of them away, but to secure them,” Ryun said on a recent episode of The Greatness Conversation. “Progressives rejected all of that. They rejected all of those ideas.”
“They felt that if we had every individual out there claiming their rights, it would slow down the efficiency that they envisioned for this consolidated power,” said Ryun.
Ryun spoke on the podcast about his new book American Leviathan, the use of comedy to discuss progressive wokeness, and what the future holds for younger generations.
American Leviathan can be found on the Encounter Books website and details the rise of Progressive Statism and an administrative state that led to the current state of the government in the 21st century.
