Biden-Harris Border Legacy: 1.7 Million Potential National Security Threats

The U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary and Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement has released its interim staff report on the Biden-Harris border crisis and warns that the terrorist threat to the U.S. has skyrocketed.

The report identified more than 1.7 million potential illegal aliens from countries like Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Syria that have crossed the U.S. border since 2021.

The report describes how the Biden administration’s open borders policies have welcomed more than 7.6 million illegal aliens into the country with 1.9 million known “gotaways” whose whereabouts are currently unknown.

Among those unvetted aliens are hundreds of individuals on U.S. government terrorist watchlists who are considered a threat to national security or counter-intelligence.

The report gives specific instances where the Biden-Harris administration has sought to conceal the the consequences of its border policies, including a senior Border Patrol official who told Congress last month that he was ordered “not to release any information” on the increase of special interest aliens from the countries listed above.

That same official also told members of Congress that he was told not to “mention any of the arrests”  because the Biden-Harris administration “was trying to convince the public that there was no threat at the border.”

The Biden administration is also accused of delaying its briefing of the Committee and Subcommittee regarding Mohammed Kharwin, an illegal alien from Afghanistan who was on the terrorist watchlist, yet was still released into the United States.

When the Department of Homeland Security finally provided a briefing on Kharwin’s case last month, they still refused to answer many of the committee’s questions about the background information that landed Kharwin on the terrorist watchlist in the first place.

The report concludes that the surge of illegal aliens into the U.S. under the Biden-Harris administration has weakened national security and made our communities more vulnerable.

Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) tweeted on Thursday that while we may know the special interest countries from which these potential terrorist threats have originated, the bigger question is where they are going.
