Fake Nice and Beautiful Lies

At the federal level and in America’s failed states, politics is dominated by people being fake nice and peddling beautiful lies.

Practiced countenances convey they care so much about you it pains them physically. They find joy in you but never over you, as Kamala said this week while in character.

Whatever your struggles, they have been inflicted upon you by dark forces with unrealistic expectations making unfair demands.

They will protect you from both making decisions and dealing with consequences.

All you have to do is destroy the institutions and the people who stand in the way of this worry-free life of pleasure they promise.

Kill them with kindness, sort of speak.

As Liel Liebovitz put it in his excellent piece entitled “The Screwtape Election,” this sentiment, “…traffics in temptations designed to elude the reasoning mind and indulge instead the other, hungrier faculties: the heart and its susceptibility to comforting fantasies, and the spleen’s delight in anger and hatred.”

The heart and the spleen but never the head. Reason has no place here. Debate, as in real argumentation, not choreographed charades put on by theatrical troupes portraying network news organizations, is therefore unwelcome.

You must hate what and who they hate, like Tom from Charleroi, Pennsylvania, for example…

…Tom is not to be viewed as a family man who cares about the community in which he lives with legitimate concerns about the cultural clashes, public safety imperatives and economic challenges imposed on his home by his government after it dropped a sizeable population of foreigners at his doorstep and told him to figure it out. No, Tom is one those back row and backwater, xenophobic honkies who wants to protect his privilege just like the presidential candidate he probably supports.

Tom from Charleroi is not fake nice. He offers no beautiful lies. He is a pragmatic guy getting by living a sensible life.

Tom from Charleroi is the enemy. Hate him until your spleen delights.

Well, one need look no further than Kamala who is leading by example.

In her sit-down with representatives from the black journalists association, Kamala was asked about the situation with the Haitian migrants who have overwhelmed Springfield, Ohio…

…That’s how it’s done right there.

Speak to adults like children about the children.

Tell a beautiful lie about bomb threats insinuating Trump and Vance to be the responsible parties rather than foreign fraudsters as has been established.

The story in Springfield is kids prevented from the joy of picture day at school. You remember picture day at school, don’t you?

Fill your heart to its brim with this comforting fantasy.

To paraphrase “Friday Night Lights,” Team Kamala’s rallying cry is, “Susceptible Hearts and Vindictive Spleens Can’t Lose.”
