Was Trump’s Call to End Ukraine War the Reason for Latest Assassination Attempt?

The more we learn about would-be assassin Ryan Routh’s background, the more clear it becomes that he is a true believer when it comes to supporting the war in Ukraine.

But could his fanaticism have played a role in his attempt to assassinate former president Donald Trump because of Trump’s stated opposition to continuing to fund and supply the Ukrainian war effort?

The New York Post reports that Routh traveled to Ukraine last year looking to join the fight against Russia, he was rejected as being too old and lacking in military experience and was perceived by some of the foreign volunteers fighting there as a “wack job.”

According to the Post, following his rejection by the Ukrainian Foreign Legion, Routh chose to become a recruiter, of sorts, and to steer people in the direction of the International legion in Ukraine.

In a 2022 interview with Newsweek Romania, Routh parroted corporate media and CIA talking points, describing the war effort as a “battle of good versus evil” with no context as to the history behind the conflict.


As previously reported in American Greatness, Ukraine has compiled lists of official enemies, including Donald Trump and his running mate J.D Vance for their unwillingness to support sending more money and weapons to the embattled nation.

Legacy media has consistently pushed the narrative that anyone who opposes the ongoing flow of military and financial aid to Ukraine is bending the knee to Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Just this week, the Kamala Harris campaign released an ad claiming that she will stand up to Putin and defend Ukraine.

There are still numerous unanswered questions regarding Routh’s extensive travels to and from Ukraine, Hawaii, Europe and North Carolina. His connections with the infamous AZOV Brigade and the U.S. intelligence community add another layer of intrigue to his background.

As to what may have radicalized Routh to allegedly lay in wait for a chance to shoot at former president Trump, the media talking points he was regurgitating about Ukraine are as good a place as any to start.
