New American Greatness Poll: Battlegrounds Are a Dead Heat

Brand new polling across the battleground states shows that Biden’s exit has tightened the presidential race, with Kamala Harris at a narrow 47-46% advantage in a head-to-head matchup, with 7% undecided. Harris is also +1% in a multi-candidate ballot test across the battlegrounds.

The American Greatness poll was conducted by North Star Opinion Research and interviewed 1400 likely voters, 200 per state in Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina.

The poll was conducted July 29-Aug 2 and the margin of error is +/- 2.62%.

On the issues, the poll shows potential pitfalls for Harris, especially on the economy.

Regarding “Bidenomics,” 15% said it works “very well” vs. 40% of swing state voters who said it works “not at all.” Among young voters aged 18-34 years old, 9% said Bidenomics works “very well.”

Trump holds a +11% advantage on the “were you better off under Trump or Biden/Harris?” question, with 51% reporting better prosperity under Trump, 40% preferring the economy of Biden/Harris, and 9% uncertain.

On the topic of reparations, battleground voters overwhelmingly reject Kamala Harris’s pro-reparations stance, with 27% backing her view. Among blue-collar white voters, 18% agree with Kamala Harris’s support of reparations.

Voters also blame Kamala Harris for inflation, with 64% of battleground voters stating that she deserves “a great deal” or “some” blame for the 44% spike in grocery prices since she became vice-president.

Regarding the border, 8% view the job performance of Kamala Harris as “very strong” vs. 47% who view it as “very weak.” In a related question on law-and-order, a supermajority rejects the 2020 campaign promise of Kamala Harris to seize semi automatic rifles in a forced “buyback” program. Among the 1400 likely voters surveyed in the battleground states, 34% support the view of Kamala Harris while 58% oppose mandatory buybacks of guns.
